It is the perfect definition of a 4* Movie Theater. I used to be a manager at the CMX Cinemas in Daytona Beach, but i prefer to go to this one due to A. Having less people (Which is a +) CMX will do ANYTHING to fill up as many seats in a theater every time, no matter what. Even if a seat doesn't work. This theater shuts down seats that are unavailable due to other unforeseen reasons. B. The Facility not utilizing their box office (To save funds) actually isn't that bad in practice. I prefer to be in the air conditioning for purchasing tickets, although I just wish that they would have a separate line for Tickets and Concessions rather than both just constantly being the same one. Coming out of my theater for a drink was a slightly annoying experience because it, by design, is not quick nor meant to be quick because of the staggered movie times causing a rush during your movies previews. C. I cannot remember what theater I was in, but the system on the door to keep it closed looked like it was malfunctioning, therefore, a large light glare was on the screen on the left side of the theater. Once the gentlemen in the wheel chair returned to the theater. I got up and closed it, realized the door wouldn't close all the way, and then pulled the mechanism as closed as I could. I'm assuming this is just an issue due to lack of having an Ops tech on staff (Which once again probably falls under funding). But really isn't that big of a deal. D. It seems like every staff member works really hard here, and I cannot say enough good things about them. The theater was spotless, the line times and upselling was good (Once again, ex manager.) and they are really kind with smiles and almost excitement to help you. If I was still a manager and this was my staff, I would be ESTATIC! to have them. Like I said, with the few minor fixes and tweaks this theater would be a 5* but I dont feel like that's fair at the moment and I think the theater would agree with me, but it seems they are doing the best with what they have and that is what matters...
Read moreAfter forming a Meetup based movie and dinner group, we've had between 12 and 30 people attending every Tuesday for over five years. We would dine at a local restaurant in or near the Pavilion then go to the movie theater.
On one occasion, we tried the new Cobb theater up in Daytona. The manager noticed our large group of about 20, came over and welcomed us. He asked who organized the group and, to my surprise, offered the two of us complimentary tickets whenever we brought the group.
Since the Pavilion is our "home" territory, we've always gone there. Personally, I like it because, in addition to living only two miles distant, I charge my electric car nearby and enjoy the nice variety of great restaurants within walking distance.
Wondering if the same courtesy would be extended to us, I asked the manager if it was possible that we could have two complimentary ticket when we came in with the group. He said that it wasn't his decision and I'd have to contact the corporate office which I did. They told me that it was up to the management at the location.
I returned and spoke with the manager again, saying that corporate said okay but it was up to him. He replied that he would not do it. When I reminded him that we've been coming there for many years and brought thousands of dollars into the theater, he acted as if he didn't care at all and, again gave me a curt and rather snarky, NO.
Looking through the other reviews and seeing one in which a manager was berating an employee in front of customers, I've come to the conclusion that this theater is poorly administrated. It's not the staff, mind you, they have always been great.
The management, however, should consider training in...
Read moreEveryone should be aware of their "Lost and Found Policy". My son accidentally dropped his wallet in this establishment on April 17th 2022. On April 18th the Regal staff found the wallet. Then on April 21st Regal management "gave his money away", that was in his wallet, to an unknown charity and destroyed his drivers license, high school identification, his college identification, bank cards, credit cards and anything else that was in the wallet and threw them all away. The Deputy General Manager, Francis Brown, told us "that was company policy". Yes you heard me correct! After only 3 days they did this without making ANY attempt to contact my son. They had so many ways to contact my son; any social media connection, calling the high school, calling the college, dropping a note in the mail since they had his address but instead they choose to "give his money away" and destroy his personal property. How this is not criminal? I don't know. How do you, as management, not feel a moral obligation to help a fellow human??? You should be ashamed of yourselves. Literally could have made a quick phone call to the high school or college and gotten a message to my son. But you made ZERO attempt to contact my son. Its not about money. Its the principle. And another thing....what charity did this go to??? They wont tell me and have no receipt of the donation being made. I have contacted corporate and they have said they are looking into...
