I cannot say enough good things about this place!! Their hours are great. We always get more than our money's worth for the price of admission (and I always get some free time afterwards because both of my babies are snoring for a solid 2.5 hours after every visit!).
The museum is mostly one large room, with different areas partitioned off. It can get crowded at peak times, but knowing the chaos that is a bunch of kids in one large area doesn't bother me too much (former preschool teacher!). The spaces are well laid out and separated for the kids, but the partitions are short enough to where parents can see over them without having to tag along 2 steps behind their kid everywhere. There is a fenced off area for small crawlers (infant to 3) which is PERFECT for us right now because I have a 1yo who isn't walking yet and an almost 3 yo who loves to "help" his brother.
There is a water section that is somewhat more separated and raised up from the rest of the floor. They provide life jackets, water smocks and hand dryers to help keep sogginess to a minimum! The art area is separated by a wall of plexi glass that anyone can paint on. It's a really cool community mural.
BATHROOMS: as a mom of 2, this is always a huge issue for us. I'm potty training the older one, but can't let the younger one crawl on the floor. They have done it RIGHT at the children's museum. The sink area is one big room, and the stalls are actually 3 separate family style restrooms, with locking doors. Each one has a child's potty and an adult toilet, with a chair so nothing (and no one!) has to go on the floor. I am able to set my youngest on the chair long enough to help the oldest go, while in a private area. There is a changing table as well, and half the sink have steps installed for little ones. The only improvement I could recommend would be more than one changing table, but so far we have never had to...
Read moreThis place is okay for some kids activities and educational bits. I can actually genuinely appreciate what this place does for the community and kids, and it is great to know that outlets like this exist. Our almost 2yr old was interested in some activities, but lost interest quickly. Great place for some LIGHT educational stuff, but only knocking 2 stars for several reasons. Our daughter loved the glow stick wall, the gold-ball ramps, and even enjoyed the little cooking and shopping areas setup with nicely done props. The first star lost goes to the parents not watching their kids or group of kids. While this responsibility does not fall on this place itself, it was extremely disappointing seeing rambunctious kids knocking each other over, taking things from other kids, temper tantrums, and other less than savory examples of behavior our 2yr old doesnt need to see. This rests on the parents and it was sad to see so many parents on their phones or off in a corner while their kids tore the activities to bits. The other star lost actually is a health concern. I write this review from an urgent care our daughter and I both have to be seen for potential strep/bacterial exposure. This place was the only public place we have literally been to in some time and we dont normally get sick. The big item that we can only suggest to steer clear from is the water activity area. All of the toys, chairs, stools, and even water somehow smelled like the inside of a Del Taco play gym and was absolutely foul. There is no way that the water in those activities is filtered or fresh.
I will lastly say this, if you are one of those parents who is anti-vax, other parents dont appreciate the idea of our kids getting otherwise avoidable diseases because you think little Aiden needs to build his immunity by exposing him and everyone else to a literal cesspool of bacteria. Will not be coming back....
Read moreGreat place for little ones to come and play and learn. I recommend getting a membership, as it is definitely worth the money to be able to come whenever you want. They have a schedule of classes and activities for your little one, as well as an area to play with water, a crafting and painting area, a stage area complete with costumes, a reading area, play house, and other fun activities that are often changing and being added to. A separate area is gated off and perfect for the little ones that may not quite be walking yet. A little expensive to go once, but membership is great, and if you pay your admission to go and decide you like it, they are happy to put the admission price that you paid toward the purchase of the membership. If you have kids ages between infant and 4 years old then you absolutely should check this place out. My daughter's favorite was the music and movement class on fridays where she would dance and play. She would get upset when she missed it. Truly perfect for preschool aged kids. The were a few times that we went when older kids from the special education classes would be there, and we wouldn't stay long in those days because they tended to be bigger and much more rambunctious than the children that usually attended and would be running about it of control, so if you happen to go on one of those days you could be easily dismayed, but don't judge the place based on that as those days are few and far between and i can understand the benefit to those kids as well. We are fortunate to have a place like this around and so inexpensive to attend (if you get...
