As always, @highlight Armany Thammavong enjoyed the Butter Chicken Thali while I went with the Navrattan Korma Thali – both absolutely delicious and bursting with authentic flavors! 😋 The korma especially had that incredible time-release taste where the rich flavors hit you perfectly a few seconds after each bite. And let’s not forget the fresh, hot naan and onion pakoras – simply heavenly! 🙌
What made the night even more special was chatting with the owner and learning that they’re family to Reddy at Pasand Indian Restaurant in Berkeley, where I’ve been dining since 1999! 🤯 Turns out Pasand Berkeley, Kaveri Sacramento, Namaste Concord, Swagat Concord, Priya Rancho, and Priya Chico are all part of the same family – no wonder the food tastes consistently amazing at every single location!

I originally wanted take out due to having only a 30 minute lunch break and I was advised that the do not do take out on the buffet. That was a first. What's the difference between dining in and take out? Well, I was hungry and already losing precious lunch minutes so I decided to eat in. I wasn't impressed with the food. The saag was runny, the tandoori chicken was dry, chicken makhani was tandoori chicken with butter/tomato sauce. The cauliflower was ok. The goat was ok. I ceased eating when I saw a woman going back for seconds at the buffet with her dirty plate and the staff said nothing. My mouth dropped. I felt nauseous and I said something to the woman that works there. She eventually said something to the woman after she has sat back down to eat. I wondered how many others had gone through the buffet with a dirty plate. You can't blame the restaurant for the woman's disgustingly poor hygiene yet, you can blame the restaurant for not having clean plate signage or being alert to this practice.
