Awful, awful, awful. My wife, boys and I have stayed here 4 times. The previous 3 times were barely tolerable (Dirty and many problems with the rooms. Also, no breakfast as the lobby is locked until too late for us to enjoy). I say tolerable, based only on price and that we could get 2 queen beds.
This recent stay, we had them move us to another room as there was significant black mold in the bathroom, the shower didn't work properly, the smoke detector kept beeping (They didn't have batteries to fix this safety hazard/shortcoming), and the entrance to the room, outside, is NOT safe- as the entrance light was missing and the entrance is at the end of a hallway. If my wife/boys came to the room without me, someone could easily have been hiding in wait and forced themselves into the room. It was very dark, even in the late afternoon. At night, it is nearly pitch black by this entrance. this is not a dramatization. The room at the very end of the hall has a door that is half stripped- it looks like a an abandoned work in progress, and it also had no light.
They moved us into another room with a slimy (no exaggeration) carpet floor, a broken phone and a smoke detector with no batteries. We could live with the nasty carpet (Although we didn't let our boys stand on the carpet with bare feet, or lay/sit on the floor) and broken phone. However, I asked them (Had to walk to the lobby, no functioning phone) to put in batteries in the smoke detector, so we would know if there was a fire. They said no problem and they would do it while we were out. We came back and I checked it. They slid the battery cover closed to cover up the problem and did NOT replace the batteries. I came back to the lobby and asked about it. The girl at the desk said she would not be replacing the batteries as they did not have any batteries and nobody would pick up more at the store. She clearly did not care about the issue and was condescending- she said there are lots of smoke detectors throughout the hotel, so I would know if there was a fire. Ironically, I knew this to be a full blown lie, as my previous stays at the hotel- every time, the smoke detectors either had no batteries, or had dead batteries- different rooms every time. It is clear to me they simply pull the batteries out of vacant rooms and put the old batteries into the smoke detectors of occupied rooms, only when asked for.
We will never stay there again, no matter the situation. There ARE other less expensive options, nearby that have much better ratings.
Clearly there is a major management and training crisis- backed by little to no integrity and low safety standards- just enough to squeek by. All I can do now is share our experience and hope many potential...
Read moreThis place was the worse place I’ve ever stayed at! The cost I payed for one night was $180.00 they didn’t have a set up for coffee/ no breakfast but what really upset me was when I tried to set the clock it was unplugged but once plugged it in I noticed I change the time because it was busted” I took it to the front desk told the clerk and she said would have it replaced but never did” they had no lamps on each side of the bed as was mentioned by another guest, they had the tv on the dresser but they still had the tv wall rack up on the wall what an eye sore!|Did I mention when we walked in the door it smelt like “RAD” they must have used a fogger” of it. And then the parking spot next to ours had a giant oil spot someone did and it was there even the next day when we left. |Also the bed cover was stained with a black mark on it. |I went down right away with these to show it was there before we got there, remember they want an $80.00 deposit when you come in. And I think I saw they charge you $6.00 a night for parking there, ya can you believe it “ |I will never stay at this place again. Who ever owned before didn’t take of it and now these owners can care less for the people but only the cash it seems. |I did leave a good tip for the housekeeper though, it’s not their fault the management failed. |Sense they never replaced the alarm clock radio I used the air conditioner all night it because it would switch off and on every half hour in fact it turned off at 10 am one hour before the checkout time at 11.00am that was actually perfect.|One other thing you need to know all rooms are on the first floor are above the parking lot you either take the stairs are the one dirty elevator.|Please note, would someone please grease the wheels on that elevator it has this clicking sound I had to put my body and arms out across the back of it holding on incase it failed and I would go down slammed from the 3rd floor down to the 1st floor, you’ve seen the cartoon”🥸|One good thing they don’t have smoking in the rooms, because once outside you have a choice of smelling menthol brand and the other what I think was skunk witch turned out to be dope after I watch 3 guys across from my room doing. |“Well there are all types of different people out there and so some of you may not mind this type of place. |I messed up so pls don’t do the...
Read moreI booked this place without having too much expectation based on reviews I'd read while looking for a place. But I tried to keep an open mind. The reviews were pretty accurate.
I was travelling with a child. The reception staff member was not exactly warm and welcoming. It was very transactional. I also had to ask for the WiFi code as it wasn't offered voluntarily but i had no network in my room to use my own phone / data. They also take a deposit upon check in. I used my card for this and didnt receive the deposit back until the day after we checked out.
The room itself was very basic. The onky furniture in the room was a table & chair and bedside tables for the alarm clock and phone to sit on. And a unit in front of the TV. There was only 1 light for the room.. No lamps. It was super bright rather than warm lighting.
The bathroom was okay but when i went to take a shower (which is over the bath tub) there were loads of ants crawling around the top of the bath tub. And i mean a lot.. Possibly a hundred or more. I didn't have time to go to reception about it as I was in a hurry to get to an appointment. But it was not a pleasant experience.
The room also had no tea or coffee making facilities, no kettle or anything. The only access to coffee or hot water was via a machine in the reception area which is only accessible til 7pm each day. Totally impractical. There
On a plus side the room was quiet in that i didnt hear much noise from the street or from other guests. It was also handy having an elevator. was a fridge & microwave in the room. The air conditioner & heater worked. They have cable TV.
Parking was tight here. I dont think the place was at fully capacity. If it had been there wouldn't have been enough spaces.
The location of the hotel was really the selling point. Its close to some cafes and a 7/11 gas station which is open 24/7 and its about a 10minute walk to Redondo Pier. There is also a good park nearby if you have kids or just want to go for a nice walk.
I would stay here again only if there was no where else in the area available when i want to come to Redondo. There are other hotels in the same price point that are better. This is the bezt for location but if you want to be somewhere for more than a night you might want to look at somewhere more comfortable &...
