Mao dental — Attraction in Renton

Trust all the 1-Star review and avoid this dentist at all cost. Very rude and unprofessional. Paid out of pocket $500 for NOTHING.

Got dentures and he offered me to come back if it hurts. The first day I got them I ate only salad but the attached part to the denture is a cheap plastic that is too long, and sharp pressing and hurting my gum so I called to set up an appointment to come back but they were closed for Thanksgiving so I had to wait until Monday to call them and Tuesday to come in but it was one of the most strange experience I've ever encountered with a dentist.

He started yelling at me asking where my denture was which was in my mouth and he accused me for not wearing it at night which I did as instructed. He then proceed to find some mark at my gum and found nothing since I didn't eat that morning and the pain only occurs when I eat. He kept yelling at me that this happened because I chose dentures instead of implants, and lectured me on how denture works and it should not cause pain. It is actually the bottom part that attached to the denture that hurts. He never asked me anything like most dentists do to find out what was wrong before even doing anything.

I was so traumatized by how he treated me, I just wanted to get out of his office and run as fast as I possible can. I was never even given an instruction on how to use and care for the dentures either.

I'm not sure where the agression comes from, it's either he was upset because I was unhappy with his poor work or because I arrived at 8:09am, 9 minutes late due to snow that early morning.

Besides the doctor being unprofessional and aggressive, I was never happy with my tooth extraction or the minimal tooth cleaning service from his office that I hardly go there, so...

Your experience is the same as mine. The front desk staff and nurses are very nice. But Dr. Mao has a very bad attitude. He is rude. It hurts all the time. The dentures are rough due to the porcelain teeth. They feel prickly when touched by the tongue. After the porcelain teeth were put on, the root of one of the two front teeth is like a lentil, pressing against the lower teeth. Every time I close my mouth, my lower teeth press against the thick porcelain teeth. It still hurts every day for more than a year. I mentioned it when I had my teeth cleaned two months ago.
