Location: Renton Landing Plenty of Parking
What Cost Plus has over other retailers is the global diversity as reflected in their products from their culinary fare, childrenâs books (refreshing considering the abbreviated selection), oh so many sweet treats, tea, beer, wine and more!
When I was in school, Sociology class included a book called âDark Ghettoâ by Kenneth Clark. In that book it told stories of urban planning, civil rights, equality and lack thereof. One particular story stood out, it was the Black doll/White doll experiment. It proves how important it is for children to see that all kinds of people have greatness and beauty in them, no matter who they are or where they came from. That is why these Global Sisters dolls are so beautifully striking.
The store has coffee table books that are engaging and pop with color, saying âpick me pick me!â along with absolutely essential reads on how to preserve the earth beneath our feet and lessen our waste so that the places we visit with our âglobal compact travel bagsâ (see pic below) maintain their beauty and are there for us to take in.
While the duckling and mouse seemed to be a poster for 2020 and how weâre hanging on, Melissa and Dougâs âsafari animal đŠ truckâ shows us how much work we have to do! From books like âHidden Figuresâ to reads like âKindness Makes Us Strongâ and when itâs all been too much you can even buy yourself a luxurious scarf 𧣠with pockets, a wrap or just decide to âFeed the Woozleâ. If you want a Belgian beer or a lively sangria, champagne or a ready made margarita-itâs going to be fun and colorful. You can dress your table with linens and placemats, beautiful glasses and even choose tables and chairs, while there. If you need a room enlarging mirror they have it along with an airy shower curtain and soaps from afar.
Buying from World Market makes you feel like you got much further than just your pantry. Itâs as though the pasta or paella đ„ that you made or the beignets that you are dunking in your Italian âïž coffee are already transporting you to all the places youâll go, the beautiful things youâll see and all the stories youâll hear and the memories youâll make.
All at reasonable prices (for furniture đȘ better on sale) with lots of tasty teas and...
Read moreI should start by saying that I'm a huge World Market fan and have been shopping at their stores nationwide and online for years. I recently moved to the landing area and purchased a chair there that sadly did not work out. I came back to return it the next day and decided to get a table. I wanted the floor model, but the associate, A.J., who was incredibly rude and acted like I was a burden, said I had to take one in the back in a box since they were doing inventory that night. I agreed and got it home only to discover that it was defected and badly slanted. I went back immediately and A.J. was in the front talking to an employee and did not acknowledge me at first and when she did she was clearly annoyed that I was back. I told her that the table was slanted and would love the floor model or take one that they had in the back as long as we could unbox it in the store so I could inspect it. She was very rude at this point and told me to wait until she was done and then stood awkwardly in front of her coworker but didn't continue her conversation. After a few seconds she looked up and told me that another coworker would help me and proceeded to ignore me at this point. I was shocked at how disrespectful she was being. I usually never confront people but felt like I needed to stand up for myself and told her she was being incredibly rude. A.J., if you ever read this you need to seriously consider another job because retail is clearly not for you. And if your manager is reading this, you seriously need to fire her. I will never shop at this World Market location again or recommend...
Read moreOk, so I believe I have been to all of the World Market locations in the greater Seattle area. I was shocked at how bad the customer service is here. Funny looks by the associates as you are shopping (literally every one) and I don't want to even get into why that was happening. The store itself has a good amount of it's online content which is great because sometimes you have to see things in person. Some of their things needed to be restocked which I have never encountered at any of the other locations. I gave it two stars due to them having most of the things I was wanting to see from online. I spent $50 on this visit and I wish I hadn't because of the service. It was that bad. I put things I really wanted back because I didn't want to spend too much at this location due to the associates. I have never done that in my life. I was very uncomfortable with them watching what I was doing. I just bought the Garner table from the Bellevue location a week prior and will do my business there from now on because this store deserves none of my money. If this gets to the store, make sure you treat EVERY person with decency. It seems other people were having better interactions...
