Halal International Food Market and Butchershop. This market located near Bell Circle in Revere, MA in the shopping center where Revere's RMV is located. A short walk from Wonderland transportation station, this store is accessible by 110,117, and 426 buses. Sayar, is the store I immediately think of when travelers coming into the supermarket after flying into Logan who have religious dietary needs though they could go to the Haymarket neighborhood and find Middle Eastern markets on Blackstone Street. Sayar is just a train ride to Wonderland and a short but congested ride on 1A. Also, the store has adequate parking.
Upon entering there is the checkout counter on left and several aisles of groceries of food on the right. The first aisle are desserts and candies and bulk items, the next few rows have dried fruits, teas, jams, canned goods, oils, spices. Along the back wall is the butcher counter, dairy section. The far right wall has frozen foods, filo dough, some Indo/Pak Indonesian(parathas), and Greco/Armenian/Turkish/Bulgarian items like baklava and boreg/borek/burek . In front of the refrigerators are fresh produce. I have seen some fruit that some supermarkets don't carry like sickle pears. In front of the check out is a bakery case with baklava and other tasty treats. Sayar also has an olive bar.
I was pleased to find Armenian products being sold. I found Armenian yogurts and cheese. Sayar carries Eastern European (Balkan), Turkish, and Syrian and some Moroccan products.
I hope with time they include more Indo/Pak products. I was looking for Paneer and they have some Eastern European /Middle Eastern Peynir but I am not sure how similar they are. I would love to see them expand their business and include a Halal deli. There is a demand for it. As a deli worker in a local supermarket we get lots of requests for halal deli meats. For small stores, it is difficult in terms of space and resources to have a dedicated slicer for just non-pork meats. Even still difficult to find vendors who are both kosher and halal. Some brands have been kosher because they have been around for decades but demographics change and there is a growing demand. I think if Sayar were to open a second location with a halal deli either in the North Shore in Revere nearer to the airport, or in Grove Hall or another neighborhood in Dorchester, Roxbury, maybe Watertown or No. Cambridge, I think it would do well. Big box chains try to be inclusive (see Market Basket) but they can only...

In this instance, an attempt was made to get a refund on perishable meat product without a receipt- 2 weeks after it was purchased and consumed.
