We came in for the first time to Margaritas, we were craving Mexican food. The restaurant had approximately 7 tables occupied. 2 servers on the floors, plus a female bartender who was helping 8 people ate the bar top and making drinks and running her food for her customers. She was really busy, she knew how to utilize her time well.
Our “server” beautiful skinny girl but no personality, no sense of urgency, no team work. She was very slow, we asked questions that we were ignored by her. By the time she came to our table we were ready with our drink order, appetizer and entres order. And as we “2 “ people were placing the order, after every item her replied was “anything else, anything else” never smiled, never responded to our 3 questions.
As she’s waiting for the bartender to make our cocktails, she’s standing against the wall, one of her tables had asked for their check she could of taken care of that but instead she had this couple wait a long time to for their check when she is carrying the little potable machine, so easy. But she was making it long and difficult. As she continued waiting for the drinks, she made a comment to the other server referring to the bartender that she sent our drinks and she’s not behind the bar. The bartender is rushing from the kitchen with her customers food plates. Clearly this restaurant has no managers because we didn’t see one, we only saw the bartender and 2 servers. Clearly this restaurant has no food runners because of the same reasons. Clearly this restaurant has no host because we were not greeted by anyone when came in. Clearly this restaurant has no bussers because servers were clearing the tables.
We finally received our meals and appetizer at the same time, my tacos tortillas were crispy, the veggies were soggy, and black beans were crispy from the top, the side of cold sour cream was warm, the other meal the enchiladas the sauce was absorbed by the enchiladas and it was like a tick slimy layer, his sides were in the same conditions. It was a clear sign that our meals were seating under a heating lamp for long time. Our server instead of utilizing her time well, she was too busy going around like a chicken with a head cut off with only 3 small party tables.
The time of the check came finally after waiting for maybe 5-10min after I requested it. Tip options were 20% and above, we clearly left only 15% and wanted to write a note but we couldn’t explain why such a low tip. My partner suggested a verbal feedback, then I said no Because she clearly has ignored our questions/concerns.
It’s obvious this girl is only collecting a paycheck, she was the ability to be there but definitely she had no desire to be there and had no effort to work. I call these people “Low Performers” in my company. These type of employees will only set the good ones behind, and they have to cover their slack.
If she’s not doing her job Maybe there’s a lack of training.. or if she knows what to do and how to do her job, then she is simply choosing not...
Read moreWarning.. long review but owners and customers need to know..! Mixed reviews was there 2 separate times. Sat at the bar the first time for drinks and a sweet tooth. we were given excellent service and respect from the gentleman who seemed to have worked there awhile. I made sure my husband gave him a generous tip. Thought we'd give dinner a go since we were staying at the hotel few days. Chaotic mess of waitresses not serving in a designated area. So they weren't able to see their guests from across the restaurant in need or refills or ready to order/pay out. One time I heard the waitress just look aroud at her tables from afar and say "they all look like they are doing fine ", rather than actually checking in. Our waitress came up apologizing as soon as she finally got to us in the beginning. Gave her the benefit of the doubt due to it looking a little busy. Slowly, throughout the experience it just became more apparent that it was just the lack of work ethics and unprofessionalism. Waitresses standing around socializing and waiters holding up the wall gazing into space. All this while drinks are ready at the bar and other customers waiting for services. Im all about having fun while working, but there is definitely a fine line. After a few times of tracking down our waitress to get refills or chips, it became more eye opening. Especially after 20+mins of waiting on our bill and getting up to use the bathroom to find our waitress standing/sitting around talking to group of her friends gossiping, when she could be making herself a decent tip.. she proceeds to help one table and go back and talk to friends and come back to help us lil later.. I dont know if its a generational thing with having a bunch young workers thinking its social hour or zero management. I think it would've definitely help having a professional manager overseeing customer service and checking in with customers. Especially so they can see where the issue is. But it looked like no one was a manager or cared about a reputation to uphold due to unhappy looking customers, servers standing around, and rap/ unappealing music playing. Food was ok, but if we went back it would be to sit at the bar where the bartender can actually see and give decent service. Im sorry for the essay and I'm not one to complain, but that was just plain ridiculous and unprofessional. Stuck between 2 or 3 stars but I'll do 3 for...
Read moreService was awful. I had a waitress - Ingrid - who made friendly conversation, and I ordered a margarita and a shrimp fajita. She was serving other tables all around, with drinks and chips (I think the chips were complimentary but I had not received or been offered any) - nothing hit my table for over 20 minutes. Eventually the waitress comes over and says she’ll check on my order a few times. More time goes by and she comes back and says the fajita order is backed up - which is fine - and then she offered a 50% discount, which I certainly thought was kind. But when inquiring about my drink, it turns out she had given my drink to another table by accident. Eventually after 5 minutes I get my fajitas first, and then my drink after another 5 minutes by two other waiters. The waitress comes to check on me afterwards - I then pay her and tip 20%, only to realize 2 minutes after leaving the restaurant that the 50% discount that was offered to me by her was never applied (I wasn’t given the chance to see the receipt before paying by the waitress, she was operating the handheld machine and only told me the total amount and I had assumed on good faith that the discount would’ve been applied since I had not memorized the prices of each item or taxes). I had asked for the receipt only after paying. Had I known I was not going to be compensated as offered, I definitely wouldn’t have tipped Ingrid 20%. It felt awkward to go back and ask for a discount after I had already paid, but I certainly feel deceived and upset. I understand being frazzled and orders being backed up, but forgetting a comp that you had offered and also getting orders mixed up and not even realizing it, is simply not good service. I had also sat down at my table much earlier than a lot of the other folks that came in later on, so this is...
