Surround Sound — Attraction in Richardson

First of all, the customer service is not very personable. AJ was always very cold and short when I would try to talk to him. We had my daughter's new car tinted there and while there, I talked to him about a new stereo for my new Nissan Frontier (I am not a factory guy unless it is a Bose system). As it turns out, my wife purchased a top of the line Kenwood and SiriusXM connector from him for Christmas. She paid him for installation and everything and told him that I wanted subs in my truck but she was not comfortable picking those out. Of course he said that he would work a really good deal on subs and accessories if she bought this particular stereo. NOw granted, I like the stereo but when I went to talk to him about subs, he simply said, I can put this box in with these subs and a Kenwood amp. He never even told me the name of the box, showed me a pic, told me anything about the amp.....he just said $700 plus tax installed. Well obviously, without knowing more info on what he was trying to sell me, I hesitated and said let me think about it. Once I talked to a few other audio techs locally, then the wife, we decided against his deal. However, she had already taken care of the stereo so I made an appointment to get it installed with AJ. Installation seemed pretty quick as they only had the truck for four hours and I know they are busy since they do dealership business as well. However, once installed, they handed me the keys and said have a good day. They did not bother to show me anything about the stereo he recommended and sold us, and when I tried to talk to the tech pulling my truck around, he just rushed by me and went on into the building. To make matters worse, when I got in my truck, they had set the factory stereo and face plate in the backseat of my truck where the material could have been ripped by the sharp edges of metal and not even in the box or the floorboard. Then, since I know nothing about the stereo itself, I looked in the box for the owner's manual to learn about the stereo and guess what......no manual. Overall, two stars may be too much for them but they did do a decent job on my daughter's car tint and the install seems okay at the moment, but I did just leave there. I would not recommend them if you want customer service. As the little people who are not the dealerships, we do not seem important...

Friday, their busiest day.. Didn't know - didn't make any difference. Was referred by dealer on new full size vehicle. Wanting window tinting. I walked in, no prior call or appointment. Hugo greeted me, very nice and friendly. I Explained what I would like done and where I had been referred from. He explained about different types of tinting and and quality and installation. Showed colors and choices available and made suggestions for the vehicle I had. Very nice explanation and NO salesy or pushy stuff. Good clear and informative explanation and cost options. He said they could do it today! Would be about 1 1/2 hr. I thought I would need to bring it back. They have two work areas. Busy place, but relaxed atmosphere and nothing furious. Professional and pleasant and interesting business. I handed him the keys, looked around at all the cusom equipment and he let me watch the installation of audio and visual equipment in a Lamborghini. These guys do really special custom high end things. Didn't treat me or anyone any different regardless of spending thousands or general window tinting. Kinda fun just watching. Very impressed with Hugo and A.J. and the other guys working there. Friendly, conversant, straight talk and pricing. Great job on completion, less than the 1 1/2 hours. My full and complete five star...

Update many years later! I called up, spoke with Ali and AJ, didn't remind who I was and got my surprise upgrading my wife's car in just under the deadlome with almost no notice!! Always great catching up and always quality work from fantastic people!!! Got all the windows tinted on my wife's car and they were kind enough to squeeze me in last minute and the best deal for truly quality tint (Highest Quality Ceramic non-metal infused tint) and pricing is flat-out unbeatable for this kind of expertise!! We'll absolutely be back for the front windshield clear heat rejection tint and replacing the tint on our Jeep and new Audio System and Remote Start for my Wife's car. You guys rock and keep up the fantastic work!!!
