Pinot's Palette — Attraction in Ridgewood

My husband and I enjoyed a nice date night, painting at Pinot’s Palette in Ridgewood, NJ.

Booking online was easy! Choose the location, the type of painting and then pick a date and time that works best for you. We were even able to use a gift card we received from the previous year without any issues.

The day of the event our instructor was friendly, funny, and informative. She immediately greeted us and shared where to find everything we needed, including a large ice bucket and labels for our BYOB wine and a place to put our snacks. Our names were written at our setting and all the brushes and paint were at each seat.

The instruction was easy to follow with multiple monitors around the room to view from various directions. She was gracious and gave us plenty of time to work, and DJ’d an upbeat mix of music to keep the spirits and energy high. During instruction she shared color mixing ratios and demonstrated brush strokes… we all feel like experts!

At the end of class she reminded us to let the paint dry before touching and took our photos. This was so fun-I’ll be back with friends and family for a fun...

This is a good party venue to get your guests to interact with each other without forcing it. They give you a blank canvas, paint, brush, and step by step instructions to recreate a painting chosen by your host. I was there for a 60th birthday party. First we mingled and had food and drink while we waited for everyone time to arrive - about 30 minutes. A couple of people were reluctant to participate because they couldn't "draw a straight line". The real fun began as we tried our best to follow instructions and create a masterpiece... especially after drinking a glass or two of wine (or spring water). Our instructor was friendly, humorous, patient, and gave step by step brush stroke directions. We complimented and critiqued each other's art work (in a fun way) throughout the entire process. The only problem was an incorrect brush. The instructor made a totally perfect thin line on her canvas and when I realized I can’t reproduce her line I asked her.. How can I make the same line with this brush..? She checked my brush and than gave me an another one because that was a totally different brush. I am a little bit disappointed of this because that was an important step of my painting. I just don’t understand why cannot everybody get the same brush because my husband also got the same useless brush for...
