Horrible first impression! Here is an email I’m sending, sums up my first and last day here.
Today I went to LA Fitness website and signed up for a guest pass. Shortly after you (I suppose the manager) gave me a call, proceeded to ask what time I’m coming in to which I said 7pm, you then emailed me the guest pass just for me to arrive at your gym a few hours later and be turned away.
As I approached the front desk once I showed the guest pass the associate this evening stated “unfortunately you can’t work out here as we are not taking guess passes due to COVID.”
As you can imagine, I stood there confused as it was issued today by this facility and none of the those reasons were mentioned by you when you personally called me. So as I’m standing there, your going to have to give an explanation as to why I showed up here. The associate stated that before ending your shift you mentioned to her that I was coming in but we are not taking guest passes. So wait- didn’t you send me the email below that states “ Attached is the Guest Pass you requested. Please bring the attachment to the club and allow us to show you the club and activate your complimentary Pass.”
At this point I am extremely upset and confused (and questioning if this girl is even being truthful) that my time is wasted - you were better off not calling or emailing me anything. I stated to the associate the phone call you made to me and the email sent of the guest pass in case there was some kind of confusion. She is looking at me as if it’s my fault and I’m crazy. Unbelievable and unprofessional.
If guest passes can’t be used this could have been avoided by simply giving me a phone call back if in fact you made a mistake. You left it to the associate to handle and that didn’t go so well which is the reason for this email. You mean to tell me that you knew I was coming in, per the associates words, so what did you expect me to do once I got there, not workout? She then gives you a call and you all “allow” me to workout. Well wasn't that supposed to happen anyway?
If what the associate said was true, you could have had the decency to give me a call and say you know what due to COVID we can’t take them (btw the website currently doesn’t state any of this which is why i was able to sign up). But no this was not said at 1:18pm this afternoon and you even asked what time was I coming in. So what is really going on here? Why email me the very thing I can’t use the same day all of the sudden?
Again horrible first impression....and if she wasn’t being truthful that’s an issue needing to be handled. Don’t waste people time.
Here is a word of advice. If there is a change in what you stated as a manager you handle it accordingly and if you didn’t you may want to clear things up with the associate. I could have gotten a babysitter, traveled long distance but none of that was taken into consideration.
After my first 10 min there, the confusion you and your associate caused, why would I even consider signing up nor feel comfortable working out at this facility if a guest pass can’t even be understood. I was embarrassed but you all are handing out guest passes having people get dressed up not to honor it.
Thanks Eldon Williams for giving me a call just to issue me a useless pass and waste my entire evening. I had high hopes that I would be signing up but I’m extremely happy for the guest pass experience as it gave me a decision to not move forward with a...
Read moreThis location is breaking the law by violating the Americans with disabilities act. The gym staff locked the mall entrance doors from he inside, saying only gym members can go through the mezzanine of the mall and back to the CTA, not allowing disabled people, seniors, people with strollers or people coming from Jewel Osco in the mall area with their carts of groceries in them to use the elevator. Instead, the gym workers are making disabled people go around the entire mall to gain access to the stores and back around the entire mall to get back to the CTA, which also means people in wheelchairs have to push themselves up a long slanted upward sidewalk just to get to the stores. The shopping mall entrances are supposed to be opened during shopping hours, which it used to, but the gym is renting people to stand at the mall entrance doors now who are telling people only gym members are allowed to go through the mezzanine to use the Elevator. For starters, that's an entrance to the shopping center, giving people access to the elevator, and the gym isn't even on either floor of the mall entrances. The elevator wasn't built in the mall entrance for the gym. Its for accessibility for people with disabilities and easier for people to push strollers and carts with groceries. The mall was built long before the company la fitness even existed. People in wheelchairs don't even be going to that gym, but the gym employees think they have the right to deny access to the elevator to get to the mall & CTA. They won't even allow mall employees to go through the mall entrance and if the mall entrance is allegedly only for gym members, which is a lie, then they shouldn't allow CTA workers or K-9 from CTA to use the entrance, especially since the CTA isn't in the mall area, but they do because I seen them going in when we were walking towards the entrance. This company should be fined for breaking the law & for denying...
Read moreI enjoy this gym only because they have few classes and I can come early and practice my hulahoop in the space where classes are usually held. Other than that they don’t have a pool or any extra exciting features really. . I was at the gym this morning and I left at 7:15am and I sat my ear phones down and forgot to pick them up. I was only in one area of the gym which was where classes are usually held, during a time where no classes were active. I called this morning at 10:15am after checking all my bags and cloths to see if they were in fact where I’m sure I left them on top of cubby or on radio .
Larry the operations manager was very rude to me when I called and raised his tone with me every time I asked him questions for clarification about the lost and found process. I simply asked if someone could check those spaces and he told me no. He said my item was such a minut item that he could not ask anyone if they had seen them and he can only wait to see if the janitor or another patron brings them to desk. . This really had me flabbergasted because I spent 7 minutes on the phone with him and in that time he could have checked the location I asked to be checked or asked janitorial staff. My headphones cost $100 and I’m certain they are in one of those spots and they aren’t in a condition anyone would be able to use them. So I’m 85% sure they are probably still sitting there. . I pay too much for my membership to be treated with dis concern and low effort when seeking information about my item. This really has me evaluating do I even wish to continue my membership...
