I have to say that this was my first time visiting. The Jewel Food Store in your Plaza was definitely not what I had expected because I was there close to closing and I was just picking up some distilled water for my sister and her husband, who by the way had just had surgery this morning so I was going to be in and out. Just as I was making my way to check out, I heard the store manager letting everyone know that the store would be closing and to please bring your final purchases to the front of the check out and he proceeded to thank everyone for choosing Jewel Food Store and to have a good night ... However I was so impressed by his performance and singing voice that I had to compliment him and said that I wished that I had this experience in every store that I shopped in. 😉 He continued to sing to me in his best, most happiest voice, "Well if you liked my voice so much then maybe I would like to make a donation to the Thanksgiving dinner fundraiser" that you have been collecting for in your store. Well naturally I couldn't resist !! 😁 Then he proceeded to thank me again in his very charming manner and I of course said that I would be back. 🤩 This day for our family started off with my brother-in-law going into surgery this morning, thankfully all went well and he's resting comfortably tonight. But ... My evening ended on a very unexpected high note and I have to say thank you so much for making this possible.

Read moreThis plaza contains a jewel grocery store, a payless, an LA Fitness, several other smaller stores, a chase bank and a smaller known bank, a nail shop, a clothing store, and a burger king. I went for the LA Fitness. This location is literally right behind the Howard station red line (end of the line on the north side). The customer service is pretty good. I've got a trial membership and no lock for a locker, yet, so the front desk person let me cold in the office behind her. I did a kickboxing cardio class for which the instructor was very good. She didn't miss a beat and had great energy the whole time. She was very encouraging and allowed us to get water whenever we needed it. She also worked in a couple "active" breaks where you jog in place while catching your breathe. Then i stretched and hit up some of the afterward. They all have pictures on them to let you know what muscle groups they work out. I went for an 11 AM class, arrived 15 min early, and there were as people there upon my arrival as when i left, although it was by no means crowded. Also, the treadmills face a nice bright window, and although the view isn't great (it faces a parking lot), you can definitely see all that's around you. It was at least sunny...
Read moreIn my opinion, the Chase Bank at Howard and Clark has a unique setup. The main entrance faces Howard Street, with Chicago on one side and Evanston just across the street. The building is part of a shopping center with plenty of parking, but you do have to walk around the building to reach the bank entrance. Entry is card-access only, which I appreciate for security. Inside, there are two ATMs right by the door. I’m personally extra cautious here based on my own past experiences, so I stay alert when using the machines. On the plus side, the ATMs are usually working and the lobby feels clean and well-lit. I like the convenience of parking nearby and being able to get in and out quickly when it’s not busy. However, I do wish the walk from the lot to the entrance felt a bit more direct and secure. Overall, this branch works fine for quick transactions, but I keep my guard up and plan my visits during daylight hours for...
