So Soulful Eatery Evanston — Restaurant in Evanston Township

I'm giving a 1 star review because I'm not a mean person who leaves bad reviews but this was so awful that I have to do it. Very disappointing and a waste of money. There was nothing soulful at all about the food. It just tasted bland and basic (no seasoning) and they did not get my order right. I ordered a side of white rise and mashed potatoes but got 2 mashed potatoes as the sides. The steak tasted like it was frozen for days, and got freezer burns. The gravy tasted like dish soap. I ordered through uber eats. They didnt even seal the bag, the driver could have easily tempered with the food. (The only positive experience from this is that the driver was supper nice and efficient.) I hate when I spend money on food and the food is this disappointing. I had a disappointing experience with this restaurant. I placed a delivery order, and after waiting for two hours, I contacted the restaurant. They falsely claimed that the order had been given to the delivery driver, even though I could see that the driver was still at the restaurant. After speaking with Grubhub, the order was ultimately canceled. I had ordered their food around the week they opened and it was so good. The next time I ordered it, that food was so trash. The Mac and cheese smelled weird and was so peppery and mushy.
