Just had one of the most uncomfortable retail experiences at HomeGoods and I need to speak on it.
The cashier never called me over—I had to approach the register on my own. No greeting, no eye contact. She carried on a full conversation with another associate behind the counter and only acknowledged me to ask about my rewards card and to state the total. That was it.
I looked at her directly, trying to make some kind of human connection, and was met with an eye roll and head roll so aggressive it felt hostile. Read moreI went to Home Goods to spend a gift card I received earlier this year. While I'm certainly not their demographic, I'm confident that they have something for anyone in their gourmet section of the store. Everyone has become a home cook this year, and there's plenty of great quality cookware, utensils, and high-end condiments and oils. I found a truffle extra virgin olive oil (made with actual truffles) for under $8.00, two pestos, a lemon olive oil, and had enough left over for a bag of chips. If you get a gift card too, check it out. Ask the staff what's good, or "do you sell a lot of this?" You could even just spend the whole thing on the awesome snacks they have. But definitely check out the great deals on oils they have, especially if you make your own dressings...
