Edit after response: Thank you for the compliment on the business name. Likewise. I do understand the difficulty with staff at times and I do want to commend the your gentleman that offered to help with my bags and the other young lady assisting customers. I’m sure they will prove to set a good example going forward. I will change my review when when I see a change after a future visit. ———
I would have a better review if they actually answered their phone during business hours. I first tried to call and ask what items they were looking for (later found a little information on the website) and no one ever answered. I also needed to know how many items bags to bring per visit as I pick up large zippered bags from my clients at a time and didn’t want to overwhelm them and waste my time. If I find out exactly what they are looking for and how they want it presented I will sort through the various bags and bring them in as such. Again… no answer. When I mentioned it at the store the shop girl was very short and no apology given for the lack of information beforehand and just kept repeating what she had said first. She also made some comment about on one of the zippered bags having items with hangers and it would take longer to process. Not sure how that’s accurate but I would have double checked if they had mentioned it when I called… if they had answered. Honestly, she seemed exasperated at even having to go through the items - and that’s her job. As I am a professional organizer I have my clients sort out what they no longer want and then take them to be sold or donated. I do this every month and would prove to be a good source of numerous size and brands of inventory in the future. I donate what consignment stores don’t want to the women’s shelter to help those in need and then my clients are also able to give back.
So for those looking to sell: Max 3 bags, not sure if they allow tubs but other stores I work with do not and I would assume no No hangers No wrinkles Freshly laundered - do not fold - Extra stars for big name box brands **You will be asked to stay in the store while they sort your bags the first time so I suggest only taking a few your first time.
** I was actually told I should expect at least an hour wait once I got there. As I was not shopping, I would have rather waited where I could at least sit down.
Excited to see a store come to Round Rock that could have decent inventory. I recommend shopping here but be very selective on deciding if you...
Read moreBuying: The shopping is fine. Geared toward young people for sure, overpriced, but some cute stuff. Saw a sign that said certain colored dots are marked down. But didn’t see a single thing with those dot colors! Lol. Actually bought a cute cord jacket. Had to ask an associate to come check me out. Chatting with dressing room person.
Selling: If you consider yourself an adult person, I wouldn’t waste time trying to sell items to this place. The kids working don’t care about what is going on, what is supposed to be going on or, most importantly, wasting your time. I brought in a handful of clothes to test it out before bringing a whole load. The 8 items were all new with tags or like new and mostly branded - Loft, Express - and for younger people (my daughter’s). I looked at their website and thought buying was until 5. I walked in about 4:30 and saw a sign that said buyers were out until 4:45. I told the young lady at the register that I thought buying stopped at 5 and she said they buy until 7 that day and buyers would be back soon. Fine. I’ll wait. She tells me items can’t be on hangers and they “PREFER them in a bag”. I told her I was new, so just learning the ropes. I removed my 8 items from the hangers. A young man walked up to the area and said nothing. I told them I was just going to run my hangers to the car. I held the door for a lady with a pile of clothes on my way out. I come back in and see the lady with the clothes signing in. No one told me to sign in. The answer from the kid - who was apparently the buyer: the machine wasn’t turned on yet. Also, you HAVE to have a bag. I can’t look at the clothes without a bag. Problem: the lady who walked in only had half of her clothes in a bag - rule didn’t apply to her. I walk out to my car and luckily found a bag. Put my 8 items in the bag, signed in. He says it’ll only be about 15-20 minutes. I can’t leave or I agree to accept their determination and forfeit the clothes. (Sign on the door also says this - can only presume response to one of the earlier reviewers!) Fine. I shop for 15-20. My name is called. Sorry we can’t use any of your items. Huh. “We are only buying men’s and coats.” AYFKM? Definitely a phrase that would have been helpful about 30 -40 minutes earlier! Left just in time to hit rush hour traffic home. I anticipated it would be a waste of time - and they exceeded my...
Read moreEdit: And of course, the business owner comes in with inaccurate information. 3 days = 72 hours from when you are told it’s done, not 3 days including the time the store is checking your items. But I suppose not everyone has the appropriate skills to run a business or to ensure their customers remain customers.
Be very, very careful with selling to this location ( assuming you aren’t able to get to another or, better yet, sell elsewhere ).
After dropping off items to sell and receiving no guidelines to when they would be ready / how much time I had to pick up the unselected items / or really anything else, I received a call later that day saying the items were ready and was only told how many items were selected and how much the price would be. I also received an email that only specified the in store credit amount, nothing else. Since I had work / school that day, I called back to check how many days I had to pick up the money and the remainder of my clothes. The front desk individual wasn’t certain, so she went and spoke to one of the buyers, who told her that I had 3 days to pick up the items. I confirmed with her that I realistically wouldn’t be available until Friday ( this was Tuesday ) and she said it’d be fine. Nothing about donations being picked up sooner or anything else.
Well, come Friday, I return to the store to collect my money and items. Turns out my items were donated, without my consent, and before the allotted time frame that I was given. I spoke with the front desk, who said that the donations were picked up the day prior, one day before I was given. This is when I was told the manager would reach out to me the next day. And he did, with a rude voicemail left for me stating that there was nothing they could do and that items were only held until end of day. Mind you, the front desk said they make exceptions and I’ve seen in other posts that exceptions can be made. Guess not.
I was also told by one of the front desk individuals that they’ve been hiring more people, specifically, as she put it, high schoolers, and that they aren’t exactly trained correctly. So basically, because these new workers weren’t trained correctly, I was given false information and had several of my items donated without my consent with absolutely no compensation for the items or my time / energy...
