This is my review after putting in my 60 day notice of vacating. I'm leaving and from my perspective no conflicts of interest, its just my opinion. This place is great. Fully transparent, I was requested to write this before the end of their 3Q as they are competing for a trophy on most (or best?) reviews for the quarter. Original plan was to write this in Nov 25, after I moved out. But I like the staff and I love this place, so here it goes.
I've lived here for almost 2 years / 22 months. Its a newer build, with all the quarks, issues with cabinets, issues with doors and windows, some odd issues with the sinks, and with a changing landscape as there is active construction.
The community is also changing all the time, and some of it I don't like. Amazingly the parts I never liked never last long, mostly its an amazing place with amazing staff ensuring it stays that way. The build problems the maintenance people are honest and up front and willing to work with you. They are fast and always responsive, and if I ask them to call ahead they do. When I lock myself out or there is a malfunction they often respond rapidly, and although I feel embarrassed but they are always comforting and helpful.
The part I enjoy most is the safe and secure environment. I'm healing from a lot of trauma, often say what happened before I moved in was like a John Grisham novel and when friends hear the story they agree; the secure complex and multiple layers of safety, the special room for packages, and the refrigerators for meds (I'm on Humira) and food, bring a layer of indescribable security when life is just in chaos. The competent and hardworking staff are simply next level.
Its so easy to get groceries in with the bellhops, grocery carts, and loading dock. There's always someone who can be a cat sitter in the complex if I need one, and the ability to walk 1-2 minutes (I'm on the 5th floor near the back) and be at a gym or in the hot tub, or pool, or grab a good cup of coffee and a space to work remote for the day. If I don't feel social, there's lots of options to jump into the pool or hot tub when no one is there. Social people tend to cluster, and I sometimes like to socialize, and sometimes I just want to swim and listen to my favorite podcast, and you can do that here, and believe truly its your pool and your safe place to listen to a podcast and chat on whatsapp with your friends. Goes without saying, late at night, you shouldn't take calls from the pool, or your deck if your near the pool, bc everyone could hear you after quiet hours. The neighbors almost always, are very considerate in this way. I think in the 2 years I've been here, I've dealt with obnoxious noise 4 times.
Its nice to walk outside and have a lot of options for pick up or eating out at almost all hours of the day or night. Its nice to have the Katy Trail for biking, or just to walk down to the river and watch the rain or ice or slush packs, or to see wildlife. Climbing out on one of the erosion preventors at midnight and accidently spooking a flock of a few thousand birds hanging out on the ice pack of the Missouri is memorable.
Also I love the sound of running water, so one of my favorite things to do after rain is to walk 10 min to Old Millstream Inn, grab a beer and some food and sit next to the stream, and relax in the sun. Perfect place to chat with friends.
Once a year its also fun to see the blue angels practicing overhead in their F-18s. There's a lot of perks to living here at the Chapters. I've enjoyed it and will miss it. I'm moving into the city close to Tower Grove Park for my next adventure.
Chapters isn't perfect, no where is, but the staff and community are such that its pretty close. Quite honestly, as I finish this I'm questioning my decision to move into the city and a townhome, but it fits the direction in life I'm seeking. I will miss this place, and...
Read moreI’ve been here a little over a week now and am getting settled in. I absolutely love it here. I feel like I’m on vacation every single day. The entire complex has an upscale “hotel feel” and I mean that in the best way possible. I love how everything is all in one secure building. The pool, hot tub, rec room, fitness center, mail room, putting green, BBQ grills, gas fire pits, are all just an elevator ride away. My own private parking spot in the garage means I never have to search for a spot. So many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Even Ameristar casino is within walking distance. Internet speeds are fast. The community plans regular fun activities. I haven’t heard any noise from neighbors. Basically, I have zero complaints. The staff has also been wonderful throughout the entire process. Laura, Heather & Carla are always so friendly and eager to help. A building with this much technology and amenities can sometimes feel overwhelming when you first move in. There is a lot of info to digest, door entry apps to download, garage entry app to download, trash procedure rules, (trash chute is so convenient on every floor), etc. The staff has been so helpful every step of the way. They will gladly walk you through every step. You never get the impression you are bothering them. They really care about the residents and are there to help people. After the initial learning curve, all of the technology is so convenient and easy to use. I also feel very secure here knowing that only residents and their guests have access to this building. A complex of this magnitude with this many amenities takes a lot to maintain properly. From what I have seen in my short time here, this entire staff is killing it. If this type of living is what you’re looking for, you won’t be disappointed. I’ve owned many homes throughout my life, and now I’m thoroughly enjoying this maintenance free lifestyle. Like I said in the beginning, every day feels...
Read moreAfter owning and maintaining a big home for many years, living here at The Chapter has been such a low maintenance breath of fresh air. This place feels like a resort. So many amenities all in one secure building. I feel very safe here. I have 2 little dogs and the elevators are heaven sent when it comes to taking them outside. No steps? Yes please! Everything is well maintained and just feels nice. I love the easy access to shops and restaurants and private garage parking. Everyone is so friendly and nice. And I just can’t say enough nice things about the staff. I have worked mostly with Laura Knight & Heather and they both have been so wonderful. Moving is always overwhelming and they have gone above and beyond to help me. Always so happy to help answer any questions and resolve any issues. The building is very well maintained and clean. I am so happy I made this decision. Apartment living isn’t for everyone, but this place is the best apartment living experience I have...
