Berrien Community Foundation is proud to have partnered with all the wonderful organizations to bring an all-abilities playground to Southwest Michigan! Just check out the awesome features that let kids — no matter their ability — play side by side! Check it out in person at Kiwanis Park in St. Joseph! #allabilitiesplayground #letkidsplay #disability #southwestmichigan #swmichigan #playground #nonprofitorganization #nonprofitsoftiktok #funinthesun #accessibility #accessible #allabilitieswelcome

This is a pretty good playground very close to other St. Joseph attractions. Make sure your kids are wearing socks and closed toe shoes because the playground is filled with loose rubber rocks rather than wood chips. Some parts of the playground look like they’ve been there since the 60’s, and are probably solid, but I was nervous for my small child to climb up. There’s a nice covered picnic area too where you can sit and have a snack or lunch. *Note the parking is not free but it’s really inexpensive. It’s worth checking out of you have little ones. There’s also a dog park, horseshoe toss, tennis court, basketball court and skate park, but none are particularly well maintained so measure your expectations and enjoy!

A really nice park that has lots to do- dog park (one for bigger and one for smaller dogs), skate park, mini tennis court, horseshoes, swings, playsets for older and younger children, and a baseball diamond. The restrooms are pretty nice and there's a large shaded pavillion. Overall it's a great park but do expect to pay for parking: $2/ hour, $5/ day, or $40 for a season pass. There is a decent amount of street parking as well if you're willing to walk. The only real downside to this park is it floods badly and turns much of the grass into a muddy mess.

I am only reviewing the dog park. It is a great area for the dogs to run. The only problem are the irresponsible dog owners. Unfortunately, there are owners who don't clean up after their dogs and bring dogs who shouldn't interact with other dogs. My dog was attacked twice in a week's period and so was I. Both attacks were unprovoked and continued as I was walking out of the park with my dog in my arms. In one instance the owner was sleeping on a bench. In the other instance they were not watching their dog and on their phone. The dog was supposedly known to be aggressive. It is unfortunate that we will not go back to the dog park. The good days cannot...

The new kaleidoscope playground is amazing! The only challenges I had were the distance to walk from the parking lot with two little kids (a sidewalk would be great) and it's hard to keep track of two littles while here but that's not their fault. There is a decent amount of shade, I love that the toddler play structure had full shade while we were there! The equipment is amazing and my 1 and 3 year olds had a blast! We'll be back for sure!

You do have to pay to park and it's a bit of a walk. There is no sidewalk so you have to watch for cars or walk through the grass (which is wet in the morning and full of flowers that the bees like so watch your feet...
