First time going. Figured, it's $9, it's a school, don't get too upset if he messes up: Everyone make mistakes. Went on 1/27/24, around noon if you wanna review the footage. Student: Nas. I would have added photos, but I don't have a before photo. And the after photo, I'm not too thrilled to share.
The student awkwardly walks up to me and stands there. Quietly says my name, looks at me and waves the card I filled out and saying he didn't want to be rude and mispronounce my name. Usually, I would hope he introduces himself, but he didn't. We walk to his station. He points to the wall that I can put my jacket there. I walk to the wall as he sets up his station. I told him there's no space. He looks at a different wall and points to it. I walk in that direction and a different student tells me where the coat rack is. He asks me what can he do for me in the softest voice possible. As there are multiple customers and students talking, I tell him I just want my sides cleaned up with a 1, and a few on the top to not look so messy. This guy says, let's do a 6 instead. Shows me a size 6 clip, and then says I'm going to go front to back with this. I'm confused, and say, ok? I'm thinking, a 6 is kind of long for my sides. And then he goes in a line front to back. Confused as most places start at the sides and end with the top at the end. I tell him I wanted a few off the top, and he keeps going. He gives me a buzz when I just wanted my sides cleaned. After the buzz cut, he asks how do I like it. I'm not impressed. Still being patient, I tell him I want the sides cleaned up, what I originally came in for. Another student comes and starts sweeping. He asks "Nas, can you take a step back while I sweep". This is where and when I hear his name, even though I can see his student permit on the wall. During the haircut, he gets a call. And even during the call, he has to repeat himself because the other guy probably can't hear him. He apologizes and says he didn't hear me. Visibly upset, I can see a few other students looking. He offers to trim my facial hair. I didn't want it, but if the damage is done, let's see how his facial trimmings are.
Yea, he can do a buzz cut. Great! I'm pretty sure I could've done it too. My recommendation for Nas, speak up so your customers can hear you, and listen to your customers. Offer suggestions while keeping what the customer wants.
I'm sure the school has great students. With all schools, there's always a student who is more difficult. It has aspiring students who want to pursue a profession. Looking at the other students work who were there, their customers looked great. Unfortunately, I didn't get to enjoy...
