BEWARE!!! The worst restaurant experience that I’ve had in my life! As we sat down at our table, a man who just finished dining with a group approached our table and said “I just want to warn you that the steak and fish were awful!” Unfortunately, we should’ve listened to him and left. Things just got worse and worse throughout our time there. To start, my vodka soda had multiple black things floating in it. Then, as we ordered a number of things out of stock including a bottle beer from the menu and French fries! For appetizers, we ordered the 1 beef and 1 chicken slider order. They took nearly an hour to come. I cut them in half so everyone at the table could share. My 12yr old was the first to take a bite of the chicken ones only to find out that they were completely raw!My son literally at a bite of RAW CHICKEN! We told the waiter. He took them away. We didn’t want to risk that again so switched to a 2nd order of beef that came 20-30min later. Finally after nearly an hour and a half, our dinners came out. My step mom ordered a Margarita Flatbread only to be told after waiting 90min that “they were out of sauce”! My dad and I ordered the creole grouper. Not only was the entire meal ice cold and vegetable dry and hard as a rock, my fish looked slimy and uncooked. My 8 and 12 year olds ordered the blacked chicken Parmesan. It was also cold and instead of resembling chicken parm (or anything blackened), it was dry chicken in a bland Alfredo sauce with pasta. My husband got the prime rib which was Luke warm and 80% fat with little meat. I did not touch a bite of my meal even though I was really hungry and my step mom had no meal to touch. The kids picked at the pasta almost everything on the table was thrown away. The waiter was nice but seemed new and lost. He made excuses about there being issues because these were “new menu items” which I don’t even believe is true. He wasn’t on top of things with the kitchen taking forever and being out of stuff. We asked for a manager. The sent a guy over who said that he was filling in for the manager. He didn’t saw too much but said that he wasn’t going to charge us for the garbage that we were served. The crazy thing was the restaurant was not busy. There were maybe 3-4 tables dinning while we were there. We wasted nearly 2 hours of our night and my son could’ve gotten good poisoning from raw chicken and we had to eat back at our hotel since we were starving. The only positive note was the bartender. She approached our table at the end and gave me a comped drink and apologized for the awful experience that we had. She seemed embarrassed from what had happened. My family eats out fairly often and we’ve never had an experience so bad across the table. I have no idea where the good reviews come from! You’ve been warned here! Eat at this restaurant and risk having your night ruined and maybe even get food...
Read moreI really hate writing bad reviews but people should know before they go what to expect. I came here with one other person during their happy hour on a week day. The restaurant was busy but there were no people waiting to be served at the host station. When we asked if there was space we were told to wait while they checked. There were several tables open but they could have been reserved so we just waited patiently. There were five staff members standing around the host station and a woman who appeared to be the owner based on her attire. None of the staff were actually doing anything other than talking to each other. Meanwhile the two of us were standing there waiting for a good five minutes. When the owner finished her conversation with one of the staffers she took out two menus and showed us to our table. The seats she took us to were empty the entire time we were waiting. No one was leaving or were they waiting to be cleaned. So it was odd to have waited that time for what appeared to be no reason. It was a high top communal table with another two people sitting at the other end. They asked if it was okay and we said sure. We were seated just before 3:30pm and at 3:45pm we had still not been acknowledged at our table. Meanwhile there were still five staff members gathered at the host station in uniform not doing anything. The other woman and her young child at the end of the communal table were visibly upset. When my partner had enough and finally went to the host station to let them know what was going on, they told him someone would be over soon. No one was bothered when he brought this to their attention. It still took another ten minutes until a server approached our table. The mother sitting near us said she has been here before and the service is notoriously bad. She took her son and just left after waiting over 20 minutes to be served. When a server came to our table at 3:55pm you would assume they would address the issue. But there was nothing. No apology, no explanation, just nothing. We explained the situation and she said she just started her shift. If 82 Degrees cannot accommodate guests during a happy hour then I think it would be better if they were transparent at the door and gave a more realistic wait time. Being in the service industry I would be appalled if guests were treated the same way as I had. It was just unfortunate because we were both excited to try this restaurant. We had walked by it many times during our stay in the area and we were so disappointed by how we were treated. I would definitely consider Woody’s, Oyster Shucker, or any other restaurant in the area...
Read moreI was really excited and wanted to love this place. It is beautiful and the scenery is gorgeous. But there are improvements to be made:
Cleanliness is the largest one. Regardless of Covid, top priority should also be made sure sanitation and making sure your restaurant is clean, including silverware, tables, and floor. As you can see from both the photo and video, our silverware was disgusting. Almost killed my appetite completely. We were initially sat by a trash that was full and flies were all around the table. That was also off putting. When we moved, the chairs had food and spills on it that we, the customers, cleaned ourselves. This ties into my next point.
Service. Could not get over how underwhelming it was to get walked past and ignored when we are clearly uncomfortable or need something from the staff. Especially our waitress. We were never even asked if we want something to drink other than water. May have been a blessing in disguise due to some sanitation issues, but overall having to stare and wave down our waitress wasn't a highlight to our visit. It almost seemed she was uncomfortable with our presence. We were looking up another restaurant to go to, but our food came out before we settled on our decision.
Food. Food is hit or miss. First meal was over cooked so it was sent back. My chicken was also overcooked but the flavor was good enough to ignore the error. One of the stars are definitely for the fries. It was our favorite element of the meal. They did a very good job on the flavoring of the food, but the overcooked aspect takes away from that.
The other star is for, who we are guessing, the owner. She was so sweet and attentive to us and our experience. She really made the experience bearable for us so the other star is for her. She listened to our issues and checked on us throughout the time there. We really appreciate her.
Can't say that we will be back, but I hope this review encourages improvement with the details provided here. We really enjoy our Sunday Brunches and see potential in this place. Wish them...
