Twistee Treat — Restaurant in Saint Pete Beach

Let me start by saying that I've been wanting to go to Twistee Treat for years. I finally went today. They have so many delicious sounding choices! My husband ordered the root beer soft serve with cherry dip in a waffle cone. He said it was delicious. I ordered the fudge brownie soft serve with cherry dip and a chocolate dipped waffle cone. Mine was also delicious. I have two minor complaints. The first is that it seems like the ice cream is not cold enough to hold up to just existing. As soon as we received our cones, they were already melting and dripping all over the place and were a mess. The second issue I had with my cone was that I received it with the cone being dipped over the napkin that the young lady wrapped around the cone. This meant that I could not eat or enjoy the top inch of my cone because it had napkin glued to it from the Dip. (It is not possible to see the napkin with the dip on it in the photo because I placed another napkin over the top of it) basically I did not get my money's worth. I had to discard a portion of my cone and ice cream. For some reason although my husband's calling was also dipped it did not have a napkin wrapped around it during that process . Lucky ham! :-) The reason it was so disappointing is that it was absolutely delicious! I will go back, but in the future I will make sure to share with the people working there what happened to my last cone so that they do it...

In Thanksgiving week, my family and I stay for a week in some condos behind this place, in the beach area and at night, on Wednesday before Thanksgiving day, my children and I went to eat some ice cream, there were two people working that night, the guy who was working that night had a very bad attitude I do not know why, first I ask if we could try some of the flavors that my daughter wanna try and with bad attitude he said it couldn't be possible, then my son ask for the Italian ice flavors and again bad attitude, any way we ordered. The girl brought my daughter's and my order, then he brought my son's order Italian ice with soft serve ice cream, he simply put it on the counter and I slammed the window, and that's when I realized that the order was ready, he don't even call or said "here's the order". Later on, he did not even attend my little girl who was at the window to ask for a spoon, he just ignored her. Very bad service! The next day we checked out from our condo, we get back to get some ice cream before heading home, thinking that maybe the guy didn't have a good day, so in Thanksgiving day, Thursday, the girl who was working was also with bad attitude. This is a very sad situation for this place, I do not know if they are not treated well by the management or not paid well but something is happening here, I do not recommend...

I first heard about Twistee Treat through a friend who had lived their many years and I just had to try it. When I first rolled into twistee treat I was in complete awe of the cone-shaped building that presented itself infront of me. I walked to the building and did not have the slightest idea of what I should order. The extremely polite and helpful employee said that he loved the brownie-bottom sundae. I ordered this delicious-sounding treat and waited for true happiness to commence. The quick arrival of the treat was just the beginning of my happiness. I looked at the icecream sitting on top of the hot brownie covered in hotfudge and new it was going to be amazing. I dove into the delicious treat and just could not refrain from eating more. Overall this was a great experience and will surely be back. This experience made my (and my family's) trip. It is too bad that I can only rate Twistee Treat 5 stars. It is a great place for the...
