I want to start with the good - the location is great - it’s a very short walk to the beach and very close to multiple restaurants. The restaurant at the hotel has great staff and food. The hotel staff were very accommodating and kind and all actively made sure that the stay was comfortable. The pool was well kept, clean, beautiful, and relaxing. Also, the live music every night of the weekend was all incredible and very enjoyable and fun.
Now, the hotel is absolutely a nice place, but there are some significant improvements/changes that should be made.
The hotel has little to no amount of exclusivity attached to it. Every aspect of the hotel - the lounge area, the pool, the bar/restaurant - seem to all be tailored to accessibility to the public.
The pool is fully open to the public, and anyone from the public can access it and even book cabanas on an app. We watched on multiple occasions where groups that were clearly not staying at the hotel had taken over the lounge area or even sections of the pool, including a cabana (of which there are only 2). There were always restaurant guests taking up at least half of the pool, leaving about 10 seats for actual hotel guests. The property is very nice, but it honestly feels like a nice restaurant that happens to have some hotel rooms attached. Instead of a nice hotel that happens to have a nice restaurant.
We paid for the nicest room available at the hotel, but there were multiple occasions where we could not find just two chairs at the pool because of restaurant guests taking up at least half of it. The pool is already a smaller area, so that fact that it is open to the public was very disappointing. We sat at a table at one point for an hour and ordered drinks and food until finally some lounge chairs opened up next to the pool.
I would love to stay again, but honestly, it feels like we could easily stay somewhere close by for cheaper and then just walk to The Saint Hotel and hang out and relax by the pool whenever we wanted.
I think the pool and lounge areas should be closed off by hotel room key access only. As a hotel guest, there is an expectation of amenities and experiences included in the stay, and we did not experience much of that. There was also no daily housekeeping. I assume it needs to be requested, but most would think it would just happen by default.
To end, I want to specifically restate how incredible the staff are - the restaurant staff (especially Aleena) we’re all very kind and attentive, and the hotel staff were all very helpful. However, the location and experience needs to be tailored to the hotel guests, or else the hotel is simply a nice pool and restaurant to visit while...

There was no place to store your clothes, no hutch or closet area, only a hanging area with a bench. The bathroom is super small with the sink being so small that it was hard to brush teeth or wash face without getting water everywhere not to mention the sink hardware was too big for the sink and there was no way to turn it to move it out of the way. The shower area had place to store you body wash cleanser or anything. We basically had to use the windowsill which everything slid off of. There needs to be some racks placed in there for this type of stuff. The shower also had just one glass door and the water from it basically wet the entire floor if there was no towel down. The bed/ sleeping area was so small and tight. I can’t count how many times I stomped my toe or hit my elbow on the barn-door hardware. They utilized very little space in the big open living area which could have housed something like a closet area for clothes. We pretty much had to live out of our suitcases the entire time there. There was no counter space for anything other than the mini kitchenette area. All of the pots and pans were rusted and the floor was filled with sand. The room had a smell of mildew and wetness and when mentioned to management it was said that it’s due to being on the beach. They sent someone to clean the room and spray some febreeze which was left for us to use incase of the smell surfacing again. The staff here was super friendly but seemed to not want to hear of complaints although they quickly corrected any issue that was mentioned. The housekeeper tried to argue with me regarding the room cleaning of the sand on the floor saying she had already cleaned it then as she was sweeping there was a huge pile of sand being swept up by her at the time furthermore showing her that she had not cleaned it. On the last and final night we got no sleep because of the strong smell in the air basically taking our breath. It’s a nice hotel and they provided lots of amenities but the air quality in the room was lacking. We did have a nice room (22) overlooking the pool with an obstructed view of a tree so really couldn’t see anything! The location to the beach was just a short walk away. Easy access. I can see myself returning...
Read moreWe came down for a girls trip and were deciding on which beach hotel to be our base. We had looked at the bigger resorts, but saw the reviews for The Saint Hotel and wanted to try a boutique hotel.
We were so happy to stay here. We arrived before official check-in, but Randy was so accommodating and was able to text us soon after arrival that our room was ready. At check-in they even let us select a beverage to start the weekend.
I'd like to say they ordered the wonderful weather for us too, as we headed poolside to take advantage of their onsite restaurant's happy hour from 3-5pm.
Our server Jacob was the best. He was attentive, made great recommendations, and made sure we didn't miss out on last call for happy hour. We had a lot of catching up as friends, that we ended eating our dinner poolside, and finishing off the night with dessert by the hot tub.
Our room was classy with that hip boutique charm. They had robes and slippers for all of us to lounge in. The refrigerator was great as it had functional shelves (unlike most mini fridges). Only draw back is that they should put the handle for the fridge door to open on the opposite side of the bathroom door, as you can't slide the barn door for the bathroom all the way shut as it bounces off the fridge handle.
I put only 4 stars for the location. It is walking distance to great restaurants and an easy stroll to the Corey Avenue Shopping District. We were fortunate to catch the open market on Sunday there. But it is a bit of a walk to the beach entrance. It's 3 blocks down, but it is a long block. The hotel does let you borrow a wagon, beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler stocked with ice and water bottles. But I think our wagon was possessed as it couldn't roll straight and kept wobbling up the curb or into street signs.
We ended up going to their restaurant, 82 Degrees, for dinner our second night and had a lovely meal. The Pork Belly and Brussel Sprouts was so good, as well as their Boursin and Bacon Mac 'n Cheese. Afterwards, it was nice to side out by their fire pits and just enjoy the evening.
Everyone was so friendly and so many little touches, that it felt like such a...
