Tony's Pizza Events Center — Attraction in Salina

If you value your safety and the safety of your family, I strongly discourage attending any event at Tony's Pizza Event Center. While in attendance, we experienced a serious security incident with a semiautomatic handgun and were threatened twice. When reported to security, and communicated to call local law enforcement and get Salina Police Department on site immediately, no actions were taken. Further, it was obvious the security manager was well acquainted and friendly with the suspect. I have never observed such an egregious failure of security principles, no metal detectors at entry control points, no wands, non-existent bag checks, no emergency action or response plan, etc. Given the unsafe experience, we will never attend another event there. We asked to be escorted to our vehicle, none was provided, and we ran to our vehicle for safety. I contacted the general manager, described the serious security violations and threats in detail, received an apology and was assured an investigation would be conducted. I am confident no preventative measures or mitigation strategies to counter the threat and hazard will be implemented and let management know they can be assured unless they take appropriate steps to safeguard their guests and secure the facility, that it is only a matter of time until a tragedy unfolds at the event center, provided the contemporary threat environment and their lack of preparedness and planning. I have heard nothing in response from Casey, the venue General Manager, since reporting the serious incident. It is evident the complacency will persist, and please let our experience be a cautionary tale to other families and guests considering attending an event at Tony's Pizza Event Center, that if you decide to, you do so at great risk of experiencing an unmitigated threat to your safety and a potential future catastrophic loss of life as we continue to observe, repeatedly in this country. Please take our adverse and life threatening experience to heart and mind, when deciding where to take in events with your families. We have no ill will or agenda toward the venue, but we would be remiss if we failed to use our voices to warn others of the potential risk to their safety and security when attending an event at Tony's Pizza...

I found the facility a disgusting disgrace yesterday attending my son’s college graduation. It was super disheartening to see the facility in such a mess. The floors were terrible as nearly everybody was sticking to them, it smelled terrible of alcohol, trash and food was there from previous events, you would have thought it could have been a little cleaner for those that worked so hard to accomplish...

I have nondeibetic stomach issues, I could not bring any of the foods in I needed as snacks for an all day event. Being physically handicapped going back and forth to my car was quite problematic. I understand they want the vendors to make money but I have a disabled ID. I'm sure losing my $30 isn't going to...
