My experience here was definitely one for the books. I've never had one like it.
I spent some time waiting to be helped. After I had been helped I was surprised at how informative they are. That was a great experience. They really make sure you have the perfect fit.
However, the socks I was advised to get and the shoes that best fit me were out of stock. I quickly looked them up online and saw I could get all of it with 2 day shipping for free from Brooks. That to me wasn't fair, so I decided to order through SLRC and help my salesman out.
I ordered my things and was told that I would be contacted when my things arrive no later than a week later. Well, a week later I called in and was told my shoes were there but my socks weren't. I go in to pick up my shoes and I found out they didnt even order my socks..... I spent almost $60 on socks.... and they didn't get them ordered because it "was not their fault." They blamed it on someone else not knowing it was a special shipment.
I leave for basic training in a week, and I asked if they would get them shipped to their location in two days in order to make things right. Well, I was told no and that if I wanted to wait another week they would give me a free $5 Tshirt, (Their cost to make the Tshirt.)..... I spent $240 there..... I think my wasted time and their mess up is worth more than that. I returned my things and was given my money back. I'll be buying these things online with free 2 day shipping, like I should have in the first place.
In short, this company only helps you find your running profile. However, if you know that already just buy your things online or at another store which actually has what you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt write reviews, but happy to give 5 stars and a shout out to Alex who helped me out. First and foremost Iād like to acknowledge that no matter if youāre an Ultra runner or someone just getting into walking 5 miles weekly, everyone is welcomed, actively listened to, and helped with a warm, genuine and enthusiastic approach to help you reach goals. Itās easy to read the room and observe this. Iāve been on the Gel Nimbus for 2 years, 3 of them purchased at SLRC with two thumbs up, and was ready to upgrade to a faster shoe. Going for a sub 4hr Full in May, Alex had experience with both the Nimbus and Novablast. All the prior research I did on the Novablast was confirmed by Alex, and he was confident itās my time to get into a faster shoe for tempo runs and race day, while maintaining the Nimbus for my slower zone 2 training. The internet and Alex were 100% correct. Im a few sessions in and love the Novablasts. Thanks to Alex for insuring my research and goals add up to what Iām about to purchase. Alex also brought out several similar shoes from other brands and insisted I try them on and hit the treadmill quick to just see what else is out there. This was an amazing learning experience to feel and learn about technologies of brands Iām not familiar with. Alex literally brought out 4-5 other shoes to show & tell, that he knew I wasnāt going to buy today, but maybe will someday. Spending $140 - $180 on shoes when youāre still a beginner and learning is much easier with a helpful staff....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in looking for info for running shoes. Logical place to to start right, a running store. Well I went in and was instantly blown away by all the stuff. Socks, bars, accessories, road shoes, trail shoes, mobility stuff and clothes. Before I could even start looking at shoes I had to check out the entire store. After a little looking around, it was time to look at shoes.
Itās been years since I looked at running shoes, so I was just looking for info, maybe what they offered. I was put in some neutral support shoes and was asked to do a little running in the treadmill. Being a ski instructor and having to go through boot fitting, it was cool to see on an iPad what they were looking at in my stride and how that would effect which shoe I would be put in. Slight pronation, small amount of support would be great.
I got 5 shoes to try on. Awesome, tried each one one and even got to get back on the treadmill and give them a go.
Ended up find a pair of shoes that fit really well and bought them, no pressure to get them. They even offered to open an profile for me so they could keep track of the shoes that worked so I would have to remember. How awesome is that!
Overall it was a great trip, totally...
