I had an excellent stay at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio. This hotel delivers a fantastic blend of upscale charm, prime location, and top-notch hospitality. Location & Atmosphere Hotel Valencia is perfectly situated along the famed Riverwalk, offering a prime spot for both relaxation and people-watching. If you’re looking for a hotel that puts you right in the heart of the action, this is it. The building itself is beautifully maintained, with a blend of classic and contemporary Spanish-inspired design, making for a luxurious yet comfortable stay. Rooms & Comfort I specifically chose a room overlooking the Riverwalk, and it did not disappoint. The balcony option is definitely worth it, providing a great vantage point to soak in the energy of the area. If you’re debating between a full balcony and a Romeo & Juliet balcony, go for the full balcony—it gives you space to truly enjoy the view. The rooms are clean, stylish, and well-kept, with comfortable bedding and thoughtful touches that elevate the experience. The soundproofing is decent, but keep in mind that the Riverwalk is lively at night, and the early morning clean-up crews can create some noise. This isn’t a dealbreaker—it’s just part of the experience when staying in such a prime location. Service & Staff One of the standout aspects of Hotel Valencia is the staff. From the moment I arrived, they were welcoming, professional, and incredibly accommodating. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or restaurant staff, everyone was attentive and made sure my stay was seamless. Food & Amenities The hotel has a great on-site restaurant and bar, which is a nice option if you want a quieter meal or drink without venturing into the busier parts of the Riverwalk. The courtyard and common areas are beautifully designed, adding to the overall ambiance of the hotel. Final Thoughts & Recommendation If you’re visiting San Antonio and want a luxurious yet centrally located hotel, Hotel Valencia Riverwalk is a fantastic choice. The location, staff, and overall experience make it worth every penny. Just be mindful of the lively nightlife outside—embrace it as part of the charm rather than a drawback. Tip: Opt for a full balcony room rather than a Romeo & Juliet balcony—it makes a big difference in your ability to truly enjoy the Riverwalk views. Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend.

We celebrated my birthday at Hotel Valencia. It was such an amazing stay and very happy we chose to celebrate here! Our valet, Mo, was an absolute gem to work with all weekend! Even when I realized I left some items in my car, he raced to retrieve with a smile on his face. We were warmly greeted at the front desk with margaritas and a smile. We were initially confused when we first arrived on where to check in. A sign stating check-in on second floor would be helpful. Upon entering our room, we were hit with an overwhelming scent, which I'm guessing is the hotels signature scent. I'm sensitive to scents like these, so it made for a long weekend. I'm also wondering if this hotel used to allow smoking previously as the overwhelming scent seemed to be trying to cover up old smoke. Once we were back home, all of our belongings smelled like smoke vs. their scent. And sadly, whoever designed the venting for our room didn't think things through - the only vent was located in the corner and blew the width of the room, not towards the rest of the room. I'm not sure if the vent in our bathroom was an exhaust fan or an ac vent, but it was not working, which made for showing and getting ready less than ideal. We stayed 2 nights, so there was no need for housekeeping to visit, but requesting a coffee bar refill ended up being trickier than expected. We ended up having to request two separate times (phone and at front desk). They surprised us while we were out to dinner with cake and champagne! It was a thoughtful touch for our celebration. Everyone we made contact with seemed to truly enjoy being at work and helping all the guests. From valet to bellman to front desk. We loved the location as the Riverwalk was literally downstairs from the hotel. The hotel is beautifully decorated! The courtyard area is charming, and we enjoyed watching the tango dancers. We spent both evenings on the restaurant's patio while enjoying the weather and sites. It's a shame the buildings across the river are currently vacant, and in need of some love. But hopefully, they will be fixed up soon. We will definitely stay again on our next San Antonio visit!

My 15 year wedding anniversary was coming up and I wanted to make it memorable. I found out that Hotel Valencia has something called the Amore Package and I was all in! The package includes a stay in one of their rooms (I picked a view of the Riverwalk), complimentary valet parking (dont forget to tip), dinner for 2 at their restaurant downstairs Dorregos, a complimentary bottle of champage and chocolate strawberries waiting in the room, and breakfast delivered by room service in the AM (my advice is call the night before and order it for the morning). This all sounds amazing already, but the took it one step further. Apparently, the front office manager Elizabeth saw my note about the 15 year anniversary and left me speechless when I checked in. She upgraded us to the Presidential Suite because it was our 15th wedding anniversary! Now, this room is BEYOND amazing. It is something out of a dream or a movie. Its most certainly something this humble disabled veteran could have never imagined he would be able to treat his wife to, and there arent enough words to describe the beauty of it all. Its on the 3rd floor, and the second you enter you are in awe. To the left is a bathroom complete with shower and tub combo with bath bombs, chocolates and a robe ready to pamper the spouse. A king size bed in a separate bedroom is next. Once you take all that in, you notice the doors in the bedroom that lead to a balcony with a river view and a cute table and chair set. Then you notice the balcony continues, and continues, and continues. Its wraps around a third of the building revealing a long dining room table, a living room with a huge sectional, a coffee bar, and a minibar. Its ALL part of the room! I could not imagine a more magical way to celebrate 15 years together, and I will most certainly see Valencia for the many more to come!

New Year’s Eve Experience I recently stayed at Hotel Valencia in San Antonio for New Year’s Eve, expecting a luxurious and well-organized celebration. Unfortunately, while some aspects of my stay were excellent, others were quite disappointing. First, the valet parking team was outstanding—efficient, professional, and courteous. Their service was seamless and truly one of the highlights of my stay. Additionally, the hotel’s location is fantastic, offering easy access to the River Walk and surrounding attractions. However, lobby service was not up to par. There was a noticeable lack of attentiveness, which was surprising for a hotel of this caliber. I spent $1,000 for one night, which included accommodation, dinner, and a DJ party. Unfortunately, the event did not meet expectations. • The dinner was just okay but very disorganized. Service was chaotic, and the overall experience felt rushed rather than enjoyable. • The New Year’s Eve favors were of very poor quality—it seemed like the cheapest options available. This was disappointing, considering the price of the package. • The DJ was a complete letdown. The music was all over the place, with no real flow or connection. The event felt disorganized and lacked proper seating for guests, making it difficult to enjoy the celebration. For the price I paid, this New Year’s Eve experience was a failure. While the hotel itself has potential, the lack of organization and quality for a premium event was unacceptable. I expected a well-curated celebration, but instead, it felt like an afterthought. If you’re looking for a place to stay in San Antonio, Hotel Valencia’s location and valet service are great. However, I would not recommend their New Year’s Eve event based on my experience.
