BVOCAL4LOCAL(c) Love. Love. LOVE this place. Hank is so helpful and informative. Full disclosure, I hadn't been back to the Blue Star in some time. My friend suggested it and I was excited to visit wonderful memories. As we're coming around a corner, I was so excited to see this place was still there. I remembered going to the Blue Star when they first started first Fridays back in the 80s. This was my favorite place then. This is my favorite place now. I love folk art with a passion. There are a multitude of items, art really, from Mexico and several other Latin American countries. You will also find multiple items from local artists. I love seeing local supporting local. The guayabera shirts are incredible. Great vintage cuts and funky patterns. These are not your abuelos guayaberas! Please ask Hank about this project with the shirts. It's incredible. Another case of helping others. I went back and forth around this place at least three times and I'm sure I still haven't seen everything. Small or large- There are so many things that you will want. Fun/ funky things. Art pieces. Statues paintings. Jewelry. The list goes on and on. Make this a place to bring your out of town guests. Make this a place to shop for your friends, your...

Can’t recommend him or this shop enough. If you’re looking for some original art,...

Handmade guyaberas made of unusually colorful, patterned fabrics are distinct from those elsewhere in San Antonio. I've only encountered a handful of stores around the country that specialize in the niche offerings that the...
