Let me start by saying the brisket burger and the fish tacos were outstanding. This is more of a story than a review, you been warned! A friend took me here after a meeting when I told him that my wife wanted good fish tacos. The atmosphere was nice, inside and out, parking is a bit of a challenge, especially if you are not driving a motorcycle. So we placed our order and waited for our food, I was approached by a middle-aged Caucasian woman, who appeared to be in distress! Now I mention her race only because I'm an African from Detroit 6' plus, 220lbs...so she approached me and asked if I could keep her company because she was a little afraid. She informed me that she was awaiting a Lyft. She further offered that she did not drive. I noticed that she didn't have a visible cellphone, so I asked her how long she had been waiting. She said I had been a while, but she unsure of the exact length of time. I asked her if she had the app on her phone, she said that someone else had called. It became obvious from her actions & nervous tone, that she had some mental challenges. I asked my friend if a taxi might be a better solution. He suggested we stick with the ride services. I pulled up the Lyft app and began to schedule a ride. The woman clutched my arm & began to cry. The Manager of La Tuna came out and informed me that she had scheduled a Lyft over 30 minutes ago, and that she had come out to check woman to ensure she was okay. Well, I didn't exactly shed a tear, but I did clutch the woman's hand and assure her that I would not leave until she was in the Lyft. As a man with 4 sisters, I have always hoped that other men would be as protective of women in distress as I am. This was truly a huge act of humanity that is sorely lacking, a big Up to the Manager of La Tuna and people like her everywhere, who refuse to overlook those in need. You're truly amazing! Her photo is below, stop in...

I can’t say enough good things about this place! My daughter brought me here for the first time in August. We had the soup of the day: Mushroom soup. It was so delicious! 🤤 I asked when they will have it again. They couldn’t say. 😲 The chef makes different soups and there isn’t a set schedule. Since then, I’ve been calling weekly to check the soup of the day. The day finally came! I would have taken a picture of the delicious soup but forgot. Once that bowl hit the table in front of me….. it had no chance!

As an added bonus….. When I called yesterday to ask about the soup and was informed it was chicken tortilla soup, I replied “thank you” and ended the call. Believe it or not….the owner called me right back to let me know the mushroom soup would be served tomorrow ( meaning today) 🤯 I was so impressed with her! I felt so special! 😊 Today we came, we ate, and we are totally satisfied!!!! 😎😋😋😋😋😋😋

By the way, I’ve have a few other dishes between August and now. Every dish has been delicious!! The food, the people, the atmosphere….. you...

The grill is under new ownership and we went back to see what's good on the menu. The smoked chicken tacos were fantastic -- the flavor is wonderful and the green sauce complements well.

The burger is plain and boring. Comes with mustard, mayo, cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles. There's nothing special about it at all. The buns are just your average bun, while the patty is just basic. I would recommend skipping the burger unless you're in the mood for basic b burger.

The French fries are average, not the seasoned deliciousness that they used to have.

The tater tots are seasoned well but the inside was mushy. It's like they weren't cooked enough.

The fried mushrooms were smaller than they used to be, which is better IMO, easier to eat without burning your mouth!! 🤣 but the ranch tasted off. It was like from a powder packet almost? I'm not sure how to describe it, but I didn't like it.

Hopefully they get a groove with the kitchen and create some great things. For now, I can only recommend the smoked...

This was our first time here and it was a very pleasant experience. There was a bit of a wait standing in line to get our order in but that’s a good thing when people enjoy the food and come back. The food came out within 15mins after placing our order and everything was seasoned well. Everything tasted fresh and the chef definitely knows his stuff. He was killing it!! The food was all on point and we will definitely be coming back. The waitress was doing an amazing job. She is the epitome of what a great waitress should and strive to be. She was very courteous and being very attentive to not just our table but everyone else around us, making sure cups are filled, and checking up to see if anything else is needed. If you’ve never been here before, the place is perfect indoors and out. The parking is a bit small and would probably be easier to go during less busy times to find a parking spot. Also, do yourself a favor and get the hot skillet apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. You won’t regret it.
