I don’t usually leave reviews, but what happened today really didn’t sit right with me, and needs to be addressed
First off, let me say this place is amazing. The space, the staff, and everything it offers are such a blessing to the community. We’ve always loved coming here, and I’m truly grateful it exists.
But on 7/12 around 7 PM, my family and I brought some pizza with us and were told by the officer at the front that no outside food is allowed. Totally understandable — we respected that and put it away without arguing.
What bothered me was that while we were being told this, multiple families around us were openly eating their outside food indiscreetly. I’m talking full meals, out in the open. One family even had gloves on while eating Popeyes. It was obvious, not hidden at all.
So naturally, I felt confused. Why were we the only ones being called out? It honestly felt unfair. And as someone with a big family, I also have to say — food inside is expensive, and there aren’t any affordable family meal options. That makes it tough for families like mine to enjoy a full day here without bringing something from home.
Before we left, I approached the security officer calmly and respectfully, even though I was frustrated. I asked why other people were allowed to eat outside food when we weren’t. He pointed to the sign that says “no outside food” and said, “Ma’am, we don’t allow outside food.” I said, “Exactly — so why is it being allowed for others? Why were we treated differently?”
He asked me to point out the families with outside food, so I did — from a distance. That’s when he just threw one hand in the air and shrugged. “Well, what do you want me to do?” he said. “Do you want me to go tell them something?” The way he said it felt really dismissive. Then he repeated, “ let’s go, take me to where they are.”
At that point, I realized he wasn’t actually trying to help or take me seriously. It felt like he was just trying to make me uncomfortable — knowing I wouldn’t want to walk around pointing people out or ruin anyone’s night. So I told him, “That’s not my job — that’s yours,” and walked away.
Again, I don’t want this review to take away from how great this place usually is. My intention isn’t to be negative, but to share how disappointed and singled out we felt. Fair is fair — if the rule applies, it should apply to everyone, not just the families who happen to get noticed.
I hope this gets seen by management and that...

Review: I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Rock at La Cantera, and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the beautiful outdoor ambiance that surrounded me. This place truly knows how to create an atmosphere that exudes relaxation and enjoyment.
My visit coincided with the Rhythm and Beats Rnb event, and boy, was it a evening to remember! The energetic beats and soulful tunes kept everyone on their feet, creating an incredibly lively and vibrant atmosphere. The music selection was top-notch and had everyone grooving to the catchy rhythms. Whether you're a fan of RnB or simply enjoy good music, this event was definitely a winner.
One of the highlights of my evening was getting a front-row seat to watch the Women's Final Four on the Big Screen. The setup was flawless, allowing me to immerse myself in the excitement of the game while surrounded by fellow enthusiastic sports fans. The viewing experience was second to none, and I felt like I was right there in the stadium, cheering alongside passionate supporters.
What really stood out to me about The Rock at La Cantera was the amazing sense of community. Everyone present was having a great time, mingling and immersing themselves in the lively atmosphere. The staff were attentive, friendly, and ensured that everyone had a memorable experience throughout the evening.
I left The Rock at La Cantera with a huge smile on my face and a promise to return for their next event. Read moreWent to the latest watch party on 2/23 and had a great time but definitely saw some opportunities. Some feedback if it helps:
The screen didn’t come on until tipoff I think it’d be great to have the pregame on as well while fans settle in. There wasn’t anything else happening at the time we were just being shown a slideshow of ads in silence.
Signage for parking was not very clear only had one that pointed to the south lot and a space to continue to north lot but nothing that indicated that was also a parking lot for guests.
Bigger events should definitely have at least one more bar, maybe one that is drinks only so lines move quicker. This watch party only had the bar in the back (that I noticed) and lines were long throughout the entire game
The rock advertises a 40 foot led screen but there is a huge L shape reserved for ads that takes up at least 30% of the screen. I understand ads are necessary but that seems a little excessive. Maybe some smaller screens to the side of the main screen exclusively for ads because it did make the picture of the game significantly smaller. Perhaps just leave the bottom strip instead of also having it move up on the left side of the screen. (Picture attached. Where you see victory capital all of that screen space is strictly for ads and the game never takes up the entire screen)
Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back, just some quality of life things we thought could be...
