Harbor Island is a 1.5 mile long strip of land right next to the San Diego International Airport. It's not actually an island, as it is connected to the mainland. Harbor Island contains some hotels, a couple of restaurants, some water sport rental places, and a small park. There is a narrow strip of sidewalk all the way around it, which makes for a walking/running path of just under 3 miles. The park is small, has a small parking lot, and bathrooms. The last time I went into the bathrooms, the stalls didn't have doors.

Bike buggy will drive you around the cost you can bargain with the Bike Buggy drivers but do Tip them as they work very hard. 4 to 6 people can sit in the Bike Buggy. You can also take a small cruz for $25 to Coronado Island its about 30 minute cruz on one direction. Make sure you pay 2 hour parking meter. The police is usually on the bicycle Gorgeous skyline of San Diego and sunset its just amazing here. You will also see many times huge cruz Ships come to the dock and people board for their vacation. You can park your vehicle and remain within feet of it while catching sharks, rays, barracuda, spotted bass, halibut, croaker, bonito, mackerel, lobster, and corvina. Spotties are hitting soft plastics right now. Go weedless not jointless. A recommend Texas rigged swimbaits and Gulp gostshrimp. Make sure you run some weight on that and get down to the bottom where all the fish are. If you get here early enough and the water is boiling throw a crankbait out there and see what happens.
