This place is definitely something else! Beware! I called in morning told them I’ll arrive late to make sure we can still check in and they said I’ll note the account all will be well. Then we come in John tells me that my room is gone and that they can put me in a hotel that’s 15 min away. I ask him that’s not fair why would I pay $360 d night for hotel that’s $150? He just ignored me. Worse part is no heads up no email nothing and he doesn’t even say sorry and continues to say it’s a normal business practice to sell out of rooms. Acts like I’m the problem. Horrible! Absolutely no customer skills no name tag on him just a back jumpsuit, he said his name was John but who really knows, he was strange and seemed to be high. I’m very disappointed with Hilton! Never had them ever treat me so bad and I have Diamond membership with them. Management- note to you - How? Seriously? You should be sorry offer a water or something. How could you do this to a loyal Hilton fan? You need to send an email or something and please don’t overbook! Keep your promise to your clients! Ky room should have been free instead I had to pay for a bunch of Ubers and make zillion calls and get to another Hilton to find out if you gave me a letter my room would be free. Yet your employee never explained this to me! You have an employee who doesn’t look out for your clients and doesn’t care! Is this what you do to Diamond members and how you treat your customers? I did call John back and asked for this letter but he told me he offered and I rejected. What a liar you got working for you!!!!! 4/10 - I came back to this property and was hoping the manager would take responsibility and make things right and I would get the free day I was supposed to but no one did absolutely nothing. On the first day being back I spoke to Kathrine and she said Sherpa would get back to me but she never did. Second day I came up and was told that she would get back to me and again no one did. I checked out today and waited for her but she was no where to be found the lady said that she would leave her a note and that Sherpa would call me but she never did and only sent and email saying she replied to my review. That’s all you can do as a manager to make things right? How about the fact that I was supposed to get a free night that day and your staff didn’t inform me of this? I ended up driving until 4am to find a room. It’s not that it didn’t meet my accommodations it’s the fact that no one explained that Hilton was sorry and would make it right by giving me a room. Not a discount nothing so far from you for causing this issue and no call from the manager. What can you do as manager to compensate me for my troubles you all caused for no fault of my own? You email me that John is so valuable but John failed to do the bare minimum and that’s give me an explanation that I would qualify for a free stay. By the way you would do a drug test on John…...

My family and I just visited San Diego for the first time from Phoenix, AZ. This hotel was AMAZING for our family. Our great stay started right off the bat with our check in with Petra at the front desk. She welcomed us, answer our questions with a smile and even recommended some great family friendly beaches nearby and restaurants that we could take our 5 & 3 year old boys to.|||The two queen bedroom was great for our family and the boys LOVED having a big bed to enjoy. All of the features in the room worked correctly and the room was very clean.|||The breakfast was amazing as with two little boys who eat three bites of something and then they are done we did not want to have to go out every morning to a restaurant so they ate like kings here. From the muffins which our little guy devoured two of them to the hot & fresh waffles were all a hit with them. My wife and I enjoyed the hot breakfast items and the fresh fruit were key for keeping energy during the day.|||During our visit we had the pleasure of meeting Martine in the breakfast area. She came over right away and said welcome and started talking to us about what we are doing in town. We asked for a restaurant recommendation and she had so many and we tried the one she loved the most and it was amazing! She even shared what beaches she enjoys going to with her child and we have them written down for our next visit to San Diego. We saw Martine again the last day of our trip and we were talking about what we did and we really felt the hospitality from her. You can not fake that, that is genuine and truly the definition of hospitality! Not to mention she was like an octopus with 8 arms cooking the food, replenishing plates, cups and cutlery while brewing multiple pots of hot coffee.||||The hotels lactation is next to airport and my boys loved watching the planes take off but yet you could not hear them in our room which was great. We had a water view room so we enjoyed watching the helicopters fly around the bay and the boats go out for the day and return at the end. We were only 1 mile and change from Liberty Station which we went to one night for dinner and we all got something different so that was fun and unique.|||The next time we visit San Diego (Probably next summer) we will be staying at this hotel, thank you again to all of your amazing...

Great central location. Very close to the airport and all attractions ...15-20 minute drive to Downtown San Diego, Seaport, Coronado Island, Balboa Park, Old Town and La Jolla. Easy access from the main road. Large parking lot shared with Towneplace Suites. My only gripe is there are many spaces marked as "Clean Air/Van Pool/ EV", many of which are in front of the hotel, convenient to the main entrance. As a precaution, I did NOT park my standard vehicle in these space and opted to park around the side, which is a further walk to the front. Parking was $15 per night. Easy check-in process...we were able to check in a bit early at 1pm. (Check-in time is normally 3pm here) Lobby was very clean and well-maintained. Lots of open space and seating areas/tables. Room was good. Small kitchenette-ish area with sink, mini fridge and microwave. Sofabed. Adequate temperature control. Good water pressure. Comfortable bedding and sheets. Large desk/table. TV with lots of channels available. Bathroom was good...but...biggest gripe is the door. The bathroom door was a sliding door, which when "fully closed" left a 1" gap where other people in the front area of the room can see the toilet...and the person who may be sitting on the toilet. Definitely a design error...I spoke to one of the maintenance staff in the hallway who acknowledged the flaw and said all rooms are like that. Rooms were quiet with minimal noise from the hallway and adjacent rooms. Hot breakfast was standard with the standard continental fare: coffee, juices, cereal, bagels, muffins, fruit, waffle-maker, yogurt and usually two options. Served from 6am - 10am. Fitness center was adequate with a few cardio machines, free weights and weight machine. Laundry machines (3 washers and 6 dryers) were functional and coin-operated. ($ 1.50 per load...change available at the front desk) Pool seemed neat but we did not have a chance to use it. Super friendly staff including check-in/front desk and breakfast staff.

Absolute chaos. You have a problem here. If you are trying to open a new hotel and you do not have the ability to open the rooms because your locks don’t work, you have a problem. If 1/3 to 1/2 of your parking spaces in the front of the hotel are designated for electric vehicles, and your back door is locked, you have a problem. If you have two security officers that stare at you from both the first and and second floors as though you’re an inconvenience yet seemed put out to open the door for travelers with luggage, you have a problem. If the two people working the front desk can’t communicate with each other and don’t respond when their teammate attempts to explain the situation, you have a problem. Yes, I know this is a new facility everything smells like fresh cut wood and fresh paint. It is obvious that you opened these doors to try to recoup your expenses way, way, way too early. I travel 180 days a year and your team has not been properly trained how to run your hotel. This is not their fault. This is your fault. Invest in your team don’t expect them to overcome your shortcomings and greed. Oh, and by the way I was told I would be contacted by a manager and that there would be compensation for our inconvenience. Didn’t happen. I think you owe me a night of my life. Oh, and I got locked in the bathroom four times because you have improperly hung your door. Yeah I know this was a new room because the bathmat was still wrapped in plastic and laying in the tub in a roll. WTF? More later…

This hotel is the best! We were only there one night for the JDRF One Walk the following day, and our experience was fantastic. Everything was super clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly. My only minor gripe would be the weak shower pressure. Here’s why this hotel will always be number one in our book: About a week after our stay, we realized we’d accidentally left Xander’s favorite stuffed animal, Kitty, behind at the hotel. Oops 😬. Mommy called the hotel and spoke with a very kind lady who said she’d seen Kitty and would be happy to send him back to Xandy. She just asked for postage to be sent. Well, we received a delivery after returning home from the endocrinologist yesterday. I think Kitty had fun in San Diego but was a little bummed about his ride back home - it must have been tough to breathe in that box 😂. He’s home now, and Xander and him are both happy. Funny enough, Xander asked about Kitty a couple of times since then, but we’d change the subject. I’m glad Kitty made it back before Xander discovered the truth! Kitty is extra special because he’s been through it all with Xander, including when he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Big thanks to the people at Hampton Inn & Suites for keeping him safe 🫶🏼.
