I went here on a Bumble BFF date after my husband recommended it from previously going there with a friend.
It looks really small from the entrance but they have some more seating inside and a back patio as well.
We sat at the back and it was really nice and cozy. Cutesy and small as well.
I got a Sugar-free Mocha with Almond Milk to start and the friend got a Black Coffee. They forgot to add the whipped cream on top and ended up getting me a second one after I pointed it out. To be honest, I didn't get as rich of a coffee-chocolate flavor. Probably had a better mocha at one of the drive-thrus of Scooter's Coffee (I believe it's a Midwest coffee chain like Philz and Peets). It was also quite runny. Probably because of the Almond Milk.
For the mains I got the Egg White and Tofu Frittata with extra roasted vegetables instead of potatoes and Rye toast. The Frittata had roasted zucchini, yellow squash, red bell peppers and some Brussels sprouts on top. All of it was stopped with Arugula and Goat Cheese. The frittata was a little bit undercooked because when I was cutting into it I could see some part of the egg white was still liquidy. I didn't say anything because I was meeting a person for the first time. And the plate was also very full with the leaves and the bowl of veggies on the side. And it just looked like a lot of mess when I'd already started eating into it. Definitely needed hot sauce (lot of hot sauce) on top because it felt a little plain otherwise. The roasted vegetables on the side were decent but very oily. It was the same zucchini, yellow squash, red bell pepper, tofu mix That was on the frittata. I had to ask for a lot of extra paper towels and press out the oil before eating it. Ended up adding those vegetables to the frittata and arugula combination. I like the rye bread. It was decently fresh and toasted right. They gave me a small jar of strawberry preserves to have with the toast because I said no butter.
Very filling meal!
The friend got the Brioche Breakfast Grilled Cheese with Bacon added, and potatoes on the side. Not gonna lie, that grilled cheese looked really nice. It was more of a breakfast sandwich with brioche bread. A spinach omelette, bacon, cheese between two slices of toasted brioche. The cheese wasn't super oozy or anything like you would expect from a grilled cheese. She really seemed to like it though because she finished it all. Used a lot of hot sauce as well haha. Probably for the potatoes more than the...
Read moreIf breakfast is the most important meal of the day, then Shoreline Kitchen is the high priest of morning rituals. Picture this: a humble eatery, nestled by the shore, where the eggs benedict don't just come to your table—they arrive, draped in a parmesan crust so divine, it could make a grown man weep. Yes, you heard right. Parmesan. Crusted. Eggs. Benedict. It's not just a dish; it's a transcendental experience that'll make you question every breakfast choice you've ever made.
Let's set the scene. You wake up, the ocean's roar is your alarm clock, and your stomach's growling louder than the waves. You think, "I need sustenance," and like a beacon of hope, Shoreline Kitchen calls to you. But here's the kicker: so does it call to everyone else. Lines longer than a brunch-loving snake on a Sunday. But fear not, for I have the secret—make a reservation. That's right. With a bit of foresight, you can skip the line like culinary royalty, waltzing past the hungry peasants as you're seated at your throne... I mean, table.
Now, back to the star of the show—the parmesan crusted eggs benedict. Imagine the perfect poached egg, its yolk richer than Midas, ensconced in a crispy, cheesy shell of parmesan, all atop a throne of perfectly toasted English muffin. Each bite is a symphony, a love letter to breakfasts everywhere, declaring, "This is how you start a day."
The ambiance? Imagine if the beach had a dining room. Casual, yet somehow elegant, as if the sea itself decided to open a brunch spot. The vibe is so chill, you half expect the seagulls to don waiter outfits and take your order.
In conclusion, Shoreline Kitchen isn't just a restaurant; it's a destination. A place where the parmesan crusted eggs benedict reigns supreme, and where making a reservation ahead of time elevates you from mere mortal to brunch deity. Miss out on this, and you're not just skipping breakfast; you're skipping joy itself. 10/10, would recommend to anyone who believes that breakfast is not just a meal, but a...
Read moreRestaurant Review: Maple Fried Chicken Sandwich & Fries
During my visit, I ordered the Maple Fried Chicken Sandwich accompanied by a side of fries. While the meal was enjoyable, it lacked a standout element that would make it truly memorable.
Food – 7/10
Maple Fried Chicken Sandwich – 6/10
The sandwich was well-prepared, featuring fresh cheese with a satisfying pull and a well-cooked egg that added a rich texture. However, I made the mistake of pressing down on it too quickly, preventing me from fully savoring its flavors. The bacon, while present, lacked seasoning and was barely noticeable within the sandwich. The highlight was the chicken itself, which had a pleasant maple syrup glaze that complemented its crispiness. Despite these positives, the sandwich didn’t have a “wow” factor—everything was good, but nothing was exceptional.
Fries – 4/10
The fries, though served in a generous portion, were relatively small. They had a nice crispiness and were mildly seasoned, but their texture caused them to dissolve too quickly, making it difficult to fully appreciate their flavor.
Service – 12/10
The service was truly outstanding. We were seated almost immediately due to the efficiency of the staff, who quickly cleaned and prepared tables despite the restaurant being packed. The waitstaff were exceptionally attentive, engaging in friendly conversation and maintaining a great sense of humor. Their attentiveness and energy greatly enhanced the dining experience.
Overall Impression
While the food was solid but unremarkable, the outstanding service made the visit worthwhile. If the flavors were as impressive as the hospitality, this meal could have been exceptional.
Side note I saw a really cool car and took a picture and edited it to...
