Skaters, frat bros, babes, weed, bums, cholos, bikers and ricers, sunburnt tourists and many more attractions to see. It's San Diego, it's the beach, everybody is there. As Sheryl Crow once said "I'm gonna soak up the sun, while it's still free."

Come in a group or alone. I've had nice chats with fellow locals, notably at times when I've tried to catch the sunset. But best of all, I've had many solitary and tranquil moments to myself here.

It has changed drastically with lots of renovation done around Belmont Park and the reconstruction (widening) of the boardwalk, along with the addition of street vendors in most recent years. However, notable structures such as Mr. Ruriberto's (originally Roberto's) and Hamel's (the castle looking building) still stand tall.

I grew up going here frequently along with Mission Bay as a kid with my family. I'll miss it a lot. It'll be a while until I come back here, hopefully next time I come with an easel and other art supplies to paint some gnarly seascapes. 😎

P.S. This is where rapper Rob Stone punched a dude right nearby the Big Dipper...

This is a pretty cool beach. Clean water and nice waves. I love to boogie board so waves are important to me. Waves were at 5 feet. It was super crowded for a monday, but its summer time so I get it. Plenty of nice bars to hang out along the board walk. Belmont park is right next to the beach which is a kind of fair that has games and rides. They also have a zip line and an escape room. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting at the beach. Filthy and unkept. Maybe if the bathrooms weren't so bad I'd give this beach 5 stars. I'd rather go to Silver strand state beach. You have to pay 10 dollars to get in to Silver strand beach, but it's worth it. Clean bathrooms, super close parking and a fraction...

Great way to spend a day or just an afternoon. The sidewalk along the beach is divided to delineate right and left walking lanes. You are able to easily traverse between mission Beach and Pacific Beach. Lined with beautiful vacation homes and restaurants on shore side and ocean views on beach side. Plenty of beach area if you wish to enjoy the sand. Lifeguards are extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Also exceptionally accessible. Sidewalk vendors are courteous and helpful but not invasive. Shops carry standard beach and tourist fare. Relatively reasonably priced. Restaurant selection in the immediate area is good with everything from bbq to Chinese to Mexican and seafood. A very...

Enjoyed one of my last trips ever visiting my younger brother shortly before he retired and then unexpectantly died of stroke. Very nice place, great trip, wish we could have him back again. The beach is clean, always seems to be right temperature, waters are fairly comfortably warmer there than farther north, loved the pelican and seagulls flying over. And lots of stores, shopping, great restaurants all around near it. My brother adopted and loved his daughter Grace, he loved and tried to help most everyone, was very smart at technology. We now have his elder dog and cat for a little while before their ages get them.

Famous beach in Sd, by the pacific. Long beach with boardwalk and tons of restaurants, shops etc. there’s a famous roller coaster ride here. I visited the beach after the sunset in December. It was cold and windy. There were big waves breaking at the shore. There were some people with kids and dogs playing around. The water after the sunset was getting darker and the seaside lights were turned on. Overall it was surreal with the sounds of waves. This beach gets much crowded in the daytime, mostly in warmer weather.
