Gorgeous locale for aquatic activities and family fun. Bring a blanket and spread out under the sun for a picnic and a nap. Bring a book or magazine and work on that tan while you catch up on current affairs or escape into a well written novel. Crack the top to your favorite flavored can of La Croix for an effervescent refreshment but remember to put your refuse in the appropriate bin when you leave. More of a night owl or goth? Th3n skip the parking chaos that comes with the draws of crowds flocking to Southern California's waterfront offerings and come at night with a trunk full of fire wood and a couple of beach chairs. Bonfires on the cove are a real treat. There is alot of space on the sand to spread out but fire pits are scarce. If they're already taken, be kind and friendly and ask to join an already raging bonfire with the promise of more wood and good company. I love this spot, not too many people I know ever go here, it is often skipped for more popular spaces or areas with more fire pits. Try your luck and make haste for a spot, if the stars are aligned In your favor and you can nab a fire pit you will be all the...

The park rangers told us the sprinklers would only be on in the mornings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We asked because we are a group of moms who bring our kids to the playground a few times a week. It is a Thursday today and they put the sprinkler on twice today. One time at 10am while we were eating snack on the grass and one time at 1pm and they sprinkled right on top of our babies who were napping. We saw two park rangers laughing from their truck as we scrambled to move our soaked children. There are homeless people who are relations inside the bathrooms loudly to the sound of Elvis music in the mens restroom and in the womens restroom we have been screamed at by homeless women in the...

It's a nice area to hang out for a few hours if you can find a place to park. There are a lot of vehicles that are parked their illegally and no enforcement so parking is limited. The upkeep is poor on busy weekends making trash mounds unsightly along the board walk. There are spots where fires were made outside of rings leaving holes filled with remnants that are still smoldering at times making it hazardous for young kids with a keen interest to dig.

All that aside it's a good place to set up for an all day hangout. The kids enjoyed the shallow water and digging in the sand. We enjoyed watching...

Our 2 hour drive from the SGV was so worth it. My kids and I met up with my best friend and her family at Bonita Cove. They were visiting from Arizona and this beach is by far the cleanest and most beautiful one I've been to. I didnt plan on going into the sand or the water, but as you can see, my kids had other plans. We created beautiful memories and got a ton of beautiful pictures. After the beach, we walked across the street to the park and our babies kept playing on the swings & slides. I can honestly say our visit there helped create some of the best memories we will have.
