Many beers, many drinks, great eats and excellent view with outdoor seating right along Mission Beach.
This is the first time we have ever been here and we went on a Saturday around 11: 30am and was expecting food service to take forever but I was wrong. We were quickly seated outside where we wanted to sit and greeted by our waitress quickly and food was in our faces way quicker than expected. I would imagine the place gets quit hopping in the evening when most people start drinking. Great service, nice people and delicious food.
If you're looking for your favorite brew or trying to find something new you won't be disappointed as they have tons of good brews. Also tons of mixed drinks if beer is not your jam. We were just there exercising in area so we did not drink da sweet, sweet nectar of the gods but opted for a Cobb salad with chicken and the fiancee' got the triple stack club w/fries. Both were delicious and both were extremely large portions. The cobb salad was actually ridiculous in size in my opinion but it was so good that I did eat the majority of it. Tons of bacon, blue cheese and all the other toppings that you could want. The fiancee's club was also extremely large and delicious. The club was served on sourdough bread, which she loves, and came with some perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside fries which are my favorite. Again both of these were extremely large portions so if you see the prices and think they're high, you are getting a lot of food....ALOTA FOOOD! So if you are starving I guarantee these will fill you up and if you are just somewhat hungry you could probably actually split an entree and save on the bill as that is what we are going to do next time, plus it leaves more money for beer if you are drinking.
With fantastic ambience, excellent view and the delicious food it is worth it to visit this place if you are in the area or if you are not from here, make sure to stop by and check it out. There's also a skate park, Belmont Park and tons of other things to do in area and can make a day out of it if you're not familiar with the area. Also if you are visiting SeaWorld, it is not that far away.
Unfortunately as always when I am ordering food I do horrible with my pictures because I start eating but I remembered right as I started eating so please excuse the photo as that is not how it was served to me but I couldn't help from digging in. I also failed and only took a picture of the front side of the menu but the back has tons of Ipas and other beers and drinks to choose from (sorry I just realized I didn't take a picture of the back when I got home). I will take better pictures next time I go and update my photos but just to get an idea check out below. My thoroughness of taking good photos gets a 1/5, but the staff, restaurant and...
Read moreThe food and water view were good, the host a very different story . We were told the wait time to sit down was about 25 minutes, no worries my party and I just walked around the park until our table was ready. Once we got the our text letting us know there was a table ready we made our way to the host stand . Now this where the issue lies, we get to the host stand and step to the side of the front of the line to let the hostess on 3/15/25 at 2:15pm know our party is ready to be seated, when we get there she is speaking to another party and getting ready to seat them, no issues she’s already made eye contact and we wait until she returns to get seated. While we wait another party steps up to the host stand to wait until they come back. Now , if you are reading this review you’ve probably seen my picture and name and you can guess what race and ethnicity I am, and if you’ve ever been to this restaurant you also know what the clientele usually looks like . When the hostess returns she immediately goes to the other party/guest, after she had already seen us waiting. The guest that the hostess directed to immediately noticed this and even said “ oh they were here first” . The hostess reluctantly looked at us and guides us to our table where she just placed our menus all together on top of the table and let us know that a server would be with us. I got a really bad vibe from her/feeling, and I asked the other people in my party what they thought about that whole interaction which they all agreed that she was very rude, and to be honest we felt profiled. I tried to shake it off- thinking it was just an off moment. I made sure to keep an eye on her with other tables just to see the way they were seated and interacted with. To no surprise, she sat another party of where we were seated, and set down the menu individually for every person in that party. The other party did not look like us. The food was okay and the views were nice . 0/5 stars...
Read moreI’m starting this review with a heavy heart because this restaurant was home to the best pretzel I’ve ever had. Truly, it was the pretzel of my dreams. My first time trying it was back in September of last year. This work of art came with sweet mustard, spicy mustard, and cheese for dipping. It also came with pickled onions, veggies, olives, and some salted meats—the works! (Picture included below.)
I’ve had many pretzels in my life—I have a personal rule I call the “pretzel tax,” which means I grab one anytime I see one at a mall or airport. So, when I say this pretzel was the best, I’m not exaggerating. My first experience with it was unforgettable. It was warm, soft, perfectly salted, and paired with incredible accompaniments. It didn’t just meet expectations; it set a new standard.
Then, in January of this year, after returning from a work trip, my girlfriend (the angel that she is) surprised me with it. It was just as magical the second time. Then came my next visit—when it had bacon on it. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “You lost me. Bacon is awesome!” But please, stay with me here. This pretzel was already perfection and didn’t need any gimmicks.
Unfortunately, the pretzel has not only declined in quality but has completely changed. Now, they’ve switched it entirely to pretzel bites, which feels like an absolute abomination.
Everything else about this restaurant is fantastic, but the pretzel that once made it a five-star experience for me is no more. I’ll always remember it fondly, but I can’t help but feel let down. For that reason, I’d give this place 3 stars, though I truly hope they bring back the original...
