Quit for a variety of reasons which I communicated to my account manager multiple times. I’m gonna assume he has no say of power in terms of bettering the gym and the managers are so busy praising each other in their boys club that nothing gets done.
Issues vary from unfriendly and rude staff members, trainers who give false information and aren’t attentive during sessions, members who don’t wipe their machines, women who leave hair/razors/ anything else you can think of all over the locker room/ showers. Even the workout room is constantly filthy.
Members need to be given gym etiquette because apparently they’re mostly rich entitled people with no manners. And the cleaning staff all need raises and there need to be more of them considering how filthy the members are. You’ll even find them sword fighting with the wooden rods in the workout room. This gym feels like a simulation out of iRobot because of how unfriendly everyone is and the fact they’re on their phone every second they aren’t touching a machine, or even during their workouts.
$150/ month for a gym that’s dirtier than some planet fitnesses is an abomination. And having to constantly give feedback because no one is actually managing the gym is infuriating and ultimately why I quit. I’m not paying to do your job.
Fatima was always great and friendly. Jarred made a racist comment about someone’s last name. And I find it odd that almost all the staff is BIPOC yet they won’t hold their members accountable. And I hope the cleaning staff is treated well and paid properly because they’re all immigrants and from what I’ve seen from admin, I...
Read moreThis is by far the best fitness center I’ve been to in San Diego. This 3 story gym has something for everyone, and it’s full of ocean views. The equipment is premium, clean, and in great condition. Each floor has a cooler filled with chilled eucalyptus towels. I really like how there are multiple different areas of the gym, instead of one huge open overwhelming space. I tried the Fit downtown, and although the gym was extraordinary, I didn’t feel like I fit in with the people there. At Fit Mission Beach, it has a much more relaxed vibe and a greater variety of people here from younger to elder, beginners to fitness magazine models, and I feel like I fit in here as an average body type. The locker room is like a spa with unlimited towels, all the products you’d need (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, mouth wash, etc), and it’s complete with a eucalyptus steam room. The locker room is spotless and an attendant is always there cleaning. The parking here is a little challenging in the summer, but you can usually find a spot in the lot across the street within 5 minutes. What I love most about this gym is I don’t have to feel like I’m wasting the daylight/sun in a boring gym. You get the gym and the beach here and that makes it rewarding. 100% worth the membership...
Read moreI recently came across a TikTok video posted by one of your instructors, Emily Kuch, and felt compelled to share my concerns. In the video, Emily made upsetting remarks about a class participant, suggesting that the individual was “slowing down the class” and implying that they were not on the same level as others. As someone who values the supportive and inclusive nature of Pilates, I found this behavior deeply troubling. Instructors should foster a welcoming environment where all students, regardless of experience level—feel comfortable, encouraged, and respected. Publicly criticizing or mocking a participant, even indirectly, is not only unprofessional but also discouraging to those who may already feel vulnerable stepping into a class. If I were the subject of such a video, I would feel humiliated. No one should have to worry about being ridiculed for their pace or progress, especially not by the very person tasked with guiding and uplifting them.
This was a disappointing experience, and I sincerely hope your facility takes this matter seriously. I strongly urge a supervisor or manager to look into this situation and address it appropriately to ensure this type of behavior is not repeated. Everyone deserves a safe, respectful, and positive space to...
