Harbor Court Hotel — Attraction in San Francisco

The hotel is nicely decorated and a bit mysterious. It reminded me of a Cigar lounge, didn't see any children at all, it's more on the adult side type of vibe. Rooms are as small as they look in the pictures on the website for sure. I choose the room with the Kong bed without the view. There windows but you see right into someone else's room. The hotel is located across the street from Pier 5 and the Brown Bridge. You will pay $100 extra for a room with a view of it. There are lots of restaurants near by and walking, biking, e bikes and e scooters are plentiful around the area. The Front Desk Staff when I checked in and the Valet Staff was nice. I found it strange thought that the highly pushed the valet parking at $79.00, and said it was due to really terrible break ins, that had been happening in the same parking structor as the $35.00 parking for such things as candy left in cars by homeless people who had been pushed in to the area. Continental breakfast with pasties, coffee and juice is served in the morning and they also serve red and white wine from 5-6pm and long with fresh water and lemon. The water in the room is $20 a bottle so didn't bother touching it. A soda, and 2 candy bars was $26......

Huge Negative: Manager Norella is beyond rude! I do not know how she is in the hospitality business because she has the WORST customer service. She is beyond condescending and defensive.(and I am not a customer is always right type of person at all) But how can you help if you will not listen..No greeting, she called my lady name and began to scold me like I was in the wrong. I could not explain my issue at all before she became defensive and acted like I was ungrateful for the staff allowing early check in at 9am instead of 3pm when I called ahead and they approved it. No apology or anything. I had to ask several times before she would give me the General Managers name. I drove 10 hours to stay at this hotel and left early due to the horribly worn out bed that had the box springs sticking out the top and I was not going to compete with ghost in the room, or in any other room in the hotel for that matter, there is something really dark on that hotel. Contrary to the information online saying it's not known to be haunted IT IS and I was not the only one who experienced it. I was sent through the run around with trying to speak to someone about my issue and hung up on. So was Priceline...can't wait to speak to the General Manager and the Owner if I have to. ....will never ever return or recommend this place to anyone. Before you read this just know I’m very picky about my hotels because I’ve stayed in multiple hotels for months at a time for work reasons. So to start off my review, overall was an above average experience. I’ll start with the pros. My wife and I got a high floor room , the view was nice. Also the hotel is aesthetically pleasing, decorations are pretty good and look nice. The parking was stress free with no issues and very simple. Beautiful location for the hotel. A wine reception and free breakfast daily, now I’ll get into the cons. This hotel seems like a 3 start hotel in disguise as a 4 star if I’m being honest. We got a single queen room, the room was pretty small and the bathroom was TINY, shower is also very small. No mini fridge or microwave in the room???? Especially being in SF where they have amazing little markets (If you stay at harbor court I HIGHLY recommend Woodlands market, such an amazing market) A bunch of small trash cans but no bags inside them? Valet being 70$ a night before taxes is pretty pricey but seems like average price across the board of most the hotels I looked into. You pay extra for certain amenities like hotel bikes you can use and having access to the YMCA next door, which should be optional if you want because it’s just a extra charge for some mediocre benefits (I’ve stayed in multiple 3 star hotels with a gym inside the hotel with no extra charge, but this is a 4 star hotel, how?) so it seems a bit extra. Also not a huge deal but, free breakfast is just muffins and sweets? As a diabetic this is pretty lame in my opinion because nothing is better then not having to leave the hotel and just going down at 6 am for a free meal especially after paying 200$+ a night but I can’t hate that much about that more just personal preference. Alarms blaring at 5 AM from one of the other guests taking too hot of a shower. (Also side note the Japanese restaurant connected to harbor court had good sushi but is quite expensive and I went in for a pickup order and stood there for 15 minutes while all the staff talked to customers, and they were rude people) Overall my experience was okay, honestly it’s weird that every single 3 star hotel I’ve stayed at was more enjoyable then this hotel, but being that it’s in SF I get it to a extent, personally I would not recommend this hotel if I’m being honest, hope this helps to all you out there...

We just finished a 6 day/5 night trip to the West Coast area and spent our first night here. We didn't arrive until after 10pm (had to get in a baseball game first) and left the next morning by 8am. For the 10 hours our car was parked here, we were charged $68.40 which was not told to us! We were also charged $26 for amenity fee which would be great for ones that wanted to ride the bicycles or go to the YMCA but we were just there for the night, so a waste for us. I did call to question the valet fee and spoke with a nice young lady that said she would discount the fee by $20 (which did not happen, but she was nice on the phone) and wanted to know if I would like to speak the manager. I told her I would like him to know the issues and she transferred me to a voice mail. I left a message and Tim did call back while we were in Yosemite so we did not have service but he did leave a message so I know he is aware of the issues but still no comp for the valet. We stayed in much nicer places on this trip with valet fees about half this price. Our room was supposed to be one of the nicer rooms (King Bay View Room) but if that is true, I would hate to see the others. When I say the room is tiny, I mean room for a king bed and a table on each side that touches the bed and wall. And there is a wall of mirrors that I assume someone thought would make the room appear larger but it's just tacky. Our room rate was $220.99 and after all the fees, we paid $351.73 or about 60% for taxes/valet/fees. Just be aware when booking at this hotel.... wish someone had written an honest review when we...
