Some cute stuff.
I struggle with anxiety and the shop didn't help. I don't feel the need to be back.
a lot of items have no prices. Having to constantly ask about pricing is a no go for me so I just don't look at those items for purchase.
When I would pick up an item to look at a price, The Salesperson kept YELLING across the entire store "you NEED that" and "that should go home with you" trying to strong arm a sale across the store immediately made me dislike the place. Walk over to a customer, be polite, say hi. Not scream across a store. Very rude staff.
my husband bought an expensive sweater on the half off rack to be told it wasn't really half off. He decided he still wanted it but was bummed. Then when we got home without a receipt we found a major rip in the arm which we had to hand sew ourselves. (The rack did say San Francisco branded items were not on sale. But our item was not an SF item it was a regular sweater on a sales rack).
It's a cute shop with unique items. But the overly strong sales staff, poor service and no prices on half the items doesn't make a shop I need to spend in. I'm a local I respect quirky but selling a tiny tin of rubber bands for 10$ just feels like you're trying to rip off tourists. There a few okay deals, but some really astronomical prices. Even for SF, and I love here.
Double check your items and keep...
Read moreFog City Flea Trading Post stocks higher-end gifts in the Ferry Building. There's a wide selection. A lot of scents (candles, soaps), modern postcards, greeting cards, sweaters, caps, shirts, and handmade goods from boutique brands. Prices are on the higher side — a baseball cap will run you $50, and some jackets go for several hundred. There's changing rooms and the vibe overall fits the increased price points. I'll recommend it to folks from out of town to find a unique gift that goes beyond the usual tacky...
Read moreMeh. This is the average place that you would expect to see in the Ferry Building, very touristy. None of the goods here are that appealing, especially for the price. They also don’t rotate their inventory much, same stuff seen months apart, and it’s all super expensive! I understand supporting smaller artists and trading posts like these but when the selection, service, and ambience is so lackluster, I don’t really know what to say. Some items here are very interesting, and props to the small businesses...
