i never thought i would ever leave a negative business review, least of all about a haircut, but Lee absolutely butchered my hair. i went to here for a relatively straightforward men's haircut for which I had extensive photos taken by my last stylist (a long two-block with part from koreatown NYC). After coming here, I legitimately either have to a) buzz the rest of my hair off) or b) wear a hat for months while I wait for my hair to grow back.
despite showing him photos, the cut he gave me looks nothing like the photos, or what my hair looked like when I arrived. further, the cut is extremely uneven and is far too short in places to be fixable. when i indicated my shock and puzzlement at what he had done and showed him the pictures again, he said he could not fix it because he had cut it too short. then, hands shaking, he cut the sides even shorter, while telling me that my last stylist did not understand asian hair and that my forehead is too big. i went out of my way to go here based on the universally positive authentic-looking reviews, but I am pretty sure that supercuts would have done a better job (not good, yet still better).
there are so many other stylists in SF. do yourself a favor and go to...
Read moreOver the past few months, I've had the opportunity to try out several stylists in the Bay Area, all in search of someone who really understands Asian hair, but now I feel like I have found my go to stylist!
Exploring new stylists can be a nerve-wracking experience, and I initially wasn't entirely sure about the look I wanted to achieve. Thankfully, Mr. Lee's patience and willingness to discuss what exactly I wanted put me at ease. He took the time to discuss my hair type and personal preferences, which boosted my confidence in his abilities. Throughout our conversation, it became clear that Mr. Lee was the real deal when it came to cutting asian hiar. He knew all the current trends and was able to recommend a style that would best complement my features.
When Mr. Lee began working on my hair, his precision and attention to detail were amazing! He took his time to ensure that every part of the cut was just right.
I am extremely happy with the result, and I am already looking forward to my next appointment with Mr. Lee.
Thank you so much Mr. Lee! Looking forward to...
Read moreI live all the way down in South Bay, and work in San Jose. Yet, I periodically drive all the way up to SF to Mr. Lee for my haircuts, and I've done so for the past 5 years. Mr. Lee provides an incredible amount of care to his craft, starting from the full shampoo and conditioning that he performs. He really takes his time cutting your hair down to the very last detail, and is clearly an expert in making Asian hair look good. The results are phenomenal every single time. Additionally, he has the courtesy to remember the way that I prefer to have my hair cut, so the process is simple and easy! I believe that he is well worth the price that you pay for a nice hair cut, and I always leave feeling and looking great!
I have heard that there are some Korean movie/opera stars stars (Lee Byung-hun from Squid Game, Sumi Jo who is a famous opera singer) have had Mr. Lee work on their hair when they visit the States...and if so, I'd totally believe it!...
