When they created this place they could have done so many things better! They really should have worked on putting a double gate on the Octavia street entrance. I don't understand why they didn't put one & countless dogs have run out of the park because of it. A true dog park should be LOCKED. Also they really should have made it more flat, it has quite a slope to it & I know there's a way they could have made it even & flatter. There is also very little shade there on really hot days. All the benches are on the North side & get all the direct sunlight in the noon hour. If you want shade you have to go down & stand by the fence that runs along Sacramento & stay under the only one or two trees that are there. They should have put trees along the back side of the benches. It is a great neighborhood dog park mostly because everyone knows eachother & their dogs. I just wish the developers had asked for input when they created it. It was closed for a very long time & in the time they could have created a...
Read moreI had high hopes for this park when we moved to the area but after several visits at different hours of the day; we stopped going. Not a clean place to bring your dog to. Look out for poop landmines left behind by smaller dogs (once we counted over 6 different poo landmines left behind. If you do go to this park be careful of owners who are busy on their phones and are not watching their dog(aggressive/bullies)because they are preoccupied. It's no surprise why its covered in poop landmines - owners don't pay attention to their dog pooping (wherever that may be inside the play zone) because they are socializing with other individuals or they are on their phones while their dog is somewhere in the play zone.
The fake grass can be slippery when you walk down the slope on the opposite side of the entrance dependingon how wet the surface is. Play zone is not...
Read moreThis is one of the nicest parks that I have seen in San Francisco so far. It's just down the street from my home, although I have never been there until today. I was pleasantly surprised that even though the park was packed with families, children, and dogs, I still managed to find a nice spot in this park to do some meditating.
As I sat there quietly and meditated to myself, no one allowed their dogs to bother me. Dogs are usually attracted to me for some reason, but the dog owners were very respectful.
I also like that there's the perfect amount of nature at this park. It's not just grass and a swing set for children. They're actual trees, bushes, shrubs, and it's most of all... clean. I would highly recommend this part to anyone in the...
