For a while I decided to keep this hidden gem my secret but it is for that reason that I have decided to show how much this place means to me.
I stumbled on this shop three years ago by random. Ever since then My fiancé and I go back almost every month, which is about a two hour drive mind you. The sandwiches are nothing short of delicious! Pretty much everything there is worth their value and more! That especially means their Limoncello cake! If you haven't tried it yet you must! I have the biggest love for this cake so much so that I told my fiancé that this will be our wedding cake. Anytime I feel a little down or ecstatically happy my fiancé decides to bring me here. You can taste the love in everything that is hand chosen and made here. Everything and anything they make is consistent if not even better than before, which is pretty hard to do. Not to mention the ingredients used here you can tell it's beyond quality if not luxurious in every bite.
Now the employees here are the most sweetest group of people I've ever encountered . Their customer service is impeccable in every single way. Seeing the staff smile no matter how busy or late is amazing. It really shows you how much this shop means to them. Since we drive so far the staff pretty much knows us by now and they always make us feel welcome and apart of the community/ family they have built. But even before we became regulars the employees always made the atmosphere inviting and an experience never short of sweet.
I will forever come back time and time again.
P.S. don't forget to try the gelato it melts in your mouth in the most decadent way possible and...
Read moreI was about to turn away after realizing there was no inside seating, but I’m so happy my bf and I returned. We had been on an intense google and yelp search for some really good sandwiches. We could only get tuna or a veggie sandwich, so when we saw this place had good reviews, we decided to stop in.
It was a rainy day and it was the late afternoon, but we had skipped lunch and we were super hungry. We noticed that most places in SF either close early (around 3:30pm) or open later for dinner (around 5:30pm). We weren’t left with many options, but we were happy to find that Limoncello was open and they had great reviews, and the photos of the sandwiches looked great too.
We stepped in and were greeted immediately. The owner is very friendly, and he made us feel welcome. We ordered the tuna sandwich and the veggie sandwich to share, and they did not disappoint. Everything was super fresh from the bread down to the lettuce. The sandwiches are huge and filling, so they’re well worth the price. We will absolutely return.
Limoncello is definitely more of a deli / specialty items store, but the owner did advise us that they are renovating and making some space for indoor seating. I also did notice some seating outside (2 tables I believe), but it was raining when we went so that wasn’t suitable for us. Overall, the store is very clean and well organized. They have a lot of specialty items from Italy to browse through, and plenty of...
Read moreUpdate: VERY inconvenient that the prices aren't TAGGED or LISTED. Very suspicious.
Last week, for a pack or 4 lemon carbonated soda pack I paid 7.99 and on the device the name of the brand popped up.
Today, listed as "custom item" after scan didn't work, $13. I then noticed, because I used to frequent this store, that $13 is more than 4 bottles at $2.70 something, even after taxes, about $12. I asked for them to scan each bottle individually as if I grabbed them from the fridge and it came out cheaper. They make up prices on the spot I imagine. Ultimately, I was buying a 4-pack, which typically (even at this store) is a discounted item compared to refrigerated product.
I got a very hand wavey excuse of prices keep going up. As if that was relevant, the individual soda hasn't changed price. Why is the 4-pack more expensive than last week or 4x individual bottles. Suspicious behavior from a place with such high reviews.
Old review: Very clean and organized store with lots of neat Italian products from shelf goods (jams, tea biscuits, dry pasta), beverages (wines, liquors, sodas) and fresh sandwiches.
