I started renting from Turo About one month ago here in El Paso, and I have to say I freaking love it. There are some amazing cars at really good deals here and whether you’re trying to just get out of the day-to-day normal car that you drive or you just need something to replace your car for a little while while it’s in the shop, there’s something for everyone. I have seen some pretty amazing vehicles, and I’ve actually rented a couple of pretty amazing vehicles at almost minimal cost. The host or the owners of the car, they’re called host on the app, have all been great to rent from, I’m actually in a 2024 Toyota Corolla right now that I rented for a day so I could get around because me and my wife only have one car at the Moment. It allows me to do what I need to do and you can rent the car for an hour, you can rent a car for half a day or seven days or a month if the host allows it. The taxes and fees are nothing like going to a traditional car rental company because those dinosaur companies charge you so much With taxes and fees that it almost doubles the price of the car. I’m paying on average five dollars a day in taxes and fees and some cars are available as low as $60 for a day and I haven’t rented anything more than $130 a day. They offer great insurance options in case you should need something like that, all in all man, I’m a huge fan of everything on the app so far and all of the host here in El Paso that I’ve interacted with are really responsive and have some really beautiful vehicles like I said. Yeah, they got the exotic ones that get really expensive, and that’s still cool man I mean where else you’re gonna rent a Porsche for a day for not a lot of money when you think about it and also there’s a good amount of Tesla options and other electric vehicles. It may not be your best go to if you were looking to rent a car to travel across the country, you may still want to do a traditional car rental company just because of the unlimited mile options and stuff that some of those companies provide, but if you’re just looking to rent something that you’re gonna use here in the city, whether it’s leisure or business, do yourself a favor and download the app check out the cars see what’s out there give it a shot because not only is it the way of the future, but the future is now and here in El Paso and I can’t say it enough. Quick little shout out there’s a amazing hidden gem in horizon, 2023 A spec Integra. There is also a Mazda 3 on the east side that is straight out of grand Turismo, I am shocked that this gentleman rents his car out, but it is a beautiful car to drive, it handles superbly and it just reminds you that cars can blow your mind. The bottom line is Turo makes cars fun again. You don’t have to buy a $40,000 car to drive a $40,000 car and man just like renting a hotel and doing a staycation sometimes you just gotta like roll the dice and pick up your lady in a car that she’s not 100% sure where you got it from but she is excited for a cruise up trans mountain. She can throw her hair down and Put on some sexy heels and let’s go out girl.

⭐ 1 Star (Because 0 Isn’t an Option) From Booted Cars to Booted Users – My Turo Tragedy Back in March 2021, when the world was hoarding toilet paper and elbow bumping, I had an important trip to Atlanta. Traditional rental companies had sold off their fleets like it was a fire sale, and I was left carless in a world gone mad. Enter: Turo. A hip new app promising peer-to-peer car rentals and adventure. What could go wrong? Everything. Everything could go wrong. First car: canceled due to "maintenance." Okay, fair enough. The host even offered a discount next time—very thoughtful of him and his invisible car. Second car: Oh boy. Where do I begin? Emmanuel (bless his heart) was over an hour late delivering the car. I might’ve forgiven that… but the car was: Visibly not as pictured (unless those pictures were from another decade) Running on empty (like, gas light ON empty) Freshly booted by the police (yes, he sent me a pic as proof—bold move) Reeking of freshly smoked marijuana, so strong it felt like the vehicle itself was trying to get me high Decorated with pubic hairs, fingernails, open alcohol containers, and other biohazards that shall remain unmentioned. Masked with enough Christmas tree air fresheners to make Santa gag. Under the pressure of standing outside ATL with no options, I reluctantly took the car—only to realize I’d basically rented a mobile health hazard. The tires looked like they had just survived a Mad Max movie. Attempts to reach Emmanuel or Turo? Crickets. I ended up leaving the car in a garage, Finally I got a hold of Turo (as instructed by Turo after they couldn’t reach him either) so I wouldn’t miss my flight. Then, in the middle of the night, Emmanuel called and texted me—drunk, angry, and confused. I tried to help him get treatment. Turo? Not so much. Fast forward: I contact American Express for help because, Turo, just refused to help. That apparently violated Turo’s sacred Terms of Service. So, I was banned. Forever. Blacklisted. Not just from renting—but from even driving in a Turo. I still paid for the rental and was hoping to speak with a costomer service rep, no luck. I later tried to appeal, hoping to talk to a human. Got a cold auto-response telling me my account is closed "permanently." Tried again a few years later 2025 and still black listed "forever". Meanwhile… Emmanuel? Still an active Turo host. Possibly still battling Christmas-scented demons. Turo, I genuinely wanted to love you. But your customer service ghosted me and is unacceptable. Please… can someone over there dust off my account, or at least acknowledge that I tried to help your intoxicated host return his own car? Yours in hope and hygiene, A former Turo user who still has PTSD from that air freshener + weed combo

I rented a car in Las Vegas from April 8th to April 19th, 2025 from Turo Host, Serious A. I picked up the car and dropped it off at Harry Reid International Airport Terminal 3 Short-Term Parking Ramp. The Car rental piece went fine. However, I left my Beats Solo 4 headphones in the car. He found them, and let me know he had them. I sent him $20 via Venmo to cover cost of mailing them back to me, which he agreed to do. In fact, in the three months since I rented a car from him he has cheerfully agreed to send them back to me over and over and over again. He even texted me a picture he took of them sitting on his table at his office. Yep, gonna send them to me. Right. He always claims he is too busy to send them to me. He says he will, but he won’t. And he hasn’t. I have every text that has been exchanged between us where he acknowledges having my headphones and that he will mail them back to me. In our last text, via the Turo Messaging System, I gave him my name and address, again, and said he will have his guy mail them back to me the next day. Nope. Still ain’t got them. I contacted Turo multiple times regarding this matter. He ignored the email from the 1st Customer Support Rep. Hung up on the 2nd Customer Support rep, Told the 3rd Customer Support Rep that he never found any headphones in the car and doesn’t have them nor know where they are. The 4th Customer Support Rep told me it was my fault for leaving them in the car and neither host nor Turo are responsible for lost or stolen items. After posting on Instagram about this, Turo contacted me within about half an hour. They told me the same legalese the 4th Customer Service Rep did. That neither the Turo Host nor Turo are responsible for lost or stolen items. I am not getting the after the “sale” Customer Service I expect from the Turo Host, Serious A. Or Turo themselves. I spent nearly $1000 renting his car, and this is what I get. Am I asking for two much? Here are the Screenshots. See for yourself!

I have rented cars from Turo multiple times and each experience has been worthy of a 5-star rating. However, my most recent rental experience with Turo fell short of my expectations, mostly due to the host I rented from. I rented a BMW X7 from a host named Md R. Everything started smoothly except that he did not register the car with the Turo Go app correctly, which prevented me from unlocking/locking the car through the app. Nevertheless, I was able to get the key and the car and had it for a total of 10 days. Typically, on the day I return a car, I have it professionally cleaned to ensure it is clean and damage-free.

The host contacted me and asked me to take the car to another address near where I had picked it up. Being a good sport, I agreed and met up with his friend to hand over the key. I went over some things about the car to his friend before I left, and everything seemed to be okay. Or so I thought.

The host later contacted Turo and made a cleaning claim against me for $150, claiming that his car was scratched on the driver's side and there was an obscene amount of dirt in the trunk area. When I looked at the pictures provided, I discovered that there was only a small amount of residual soap and water from the car wash that had leaked inside the crack of the trunk area and dried in the inside of the car.
