We had a good time. We were a party of two. We arrived early at the office (as the email instructed) and the guide, Francisco, was a little late getting there from the previous trip so we were all waiting outside for a while. However, once he got back, and sorted out some issues with another group that had registered through a third-party web site, we took a short walk to the dock and he oriented us all on the jetskis. Then he took us out on into the bay - first in sort of an industrial party of the bay, where the water was calm and we could go as fast as we wanted (with some turns), then we made a big loop towards Castillo San Felipe del Morro. (The waves were a little bigger there.) We paused there and he took photos of everyone. Then we cruised over alongside Old San Juan to the Puerta de San Juan for more photos. Then we looped around some cruise ships and came in to dock.
The group was small (5 jetskis, I think, plus Francisco) and we traveled in a single line with about 500ft between us. It felt very safe.
Overall, we were very happy with the experience. My son, who is 21, got to go as fast as he wanted on the jetskis (his goal) and we got to see some historic areas from a different angle that many people don't see (my goal). We stayed relatively dry - much drier than I expected - and nobody had any problems out on the water. I would definitely recommend VIP Adventures.
My main piece of advice is to book directly with the company on its web site, not through some third party (Tripadvisor etc.). As I mentioned a different group booked through a third party (Viator) and they had problems with their reservation and ended up needing to double up on a single jetski because there weren't enough jetskis for them. (The company gave them...
Read moreThis Jetski tour from VIP JETSKI Adventures was amazing and the best way to start out the morning. Diego, Miguel, and Katie were great. They were friendly, warm, super sociable and created a great experience from start to finish.
Our tour guides (Diego and Miguel) made the tour fun. They offered the right balance of fun and information. The historical information they provided was actually very interesting. It wasn't like the information was recited from a thesis, it was actually historical information shared in a personable way that happened to he shared with interest and curiosity at the same time. They were professional and relaxed all in one. They took the tour seriously while being relaxed and fun at the same time.
It was my Wife's first time Jet Skiing and zi loved how they didn't overwhelm with a encyclopedia of information for beginners, yet had the right touch of important safety info and operating information to give a new rider knowledge and confidence.
Katie works in the office and was warm, hospitable, welcoming, and added to the experience to show that everyone enjoys what they do at VIP JETSKI and are always aiming to make sure people have a great experience.
I can't remember the manager's name that we met upon arrival but he was great as well. We got to chat for a bit before signing our waivers and I felt like we could grabbed some coffee before the tour lol. Very welcoming as this was our first time here in Puerto Rico.
I hope this review let's the next person know that you found the right adventures company when you our looking for a JETSKI excursion here in Puerto Rico.
Thank you Diego, Miguel, Katie, and the manager's name that unfortunately slipped my mind. Forgive, I haven't...
Read moreIf I could give this company negative or zero stars I would! We booked on Viator and paid $300 to jetski. We waited at the meeting point for 45 minutes, not seeing anyone come meet us as the instructions said. I chatted Viator and after awhile the tour guide, Ernesto, called me and said “why didn’t you say something to me?” when I hadn’t seen him and he wasn’t wearing a uniform. We ended needing a refund because Viator told me a 16 year year old could operate their own jet ski, which I confirmed by sending the date of birth & weights for the entire group (I have only jet skied once before so I didn’t know). The tour guide, Ernesto, told me we couldn’t have a refund but I could leave the kid behind & take the rest of the group on the jet skis if I wanted to. Obviously I’m not leaving a 16 year old girl alone on a dock in country she has never been to.
When I tried to explain the miscommunication he told me repeatedly that the miscommunication was my fault and I could not have a full refund, talking over me constantly. We went back and forth for over 30 minutes. Finally I asked if we could reschedule for tomorrow because we were already well into our jet ski time and we would have less than an hour on the water since we had dinner plans afterwards. He told me he would need to charge me an additional fee for rescheduling and said “you’re the one that has something to do”.
After 45 minutes of arguing the company agreed to give me a refund but it was the WORST experience ever. I would never ever work with this...
