(EDITED THREE YEARS LATER, NOTHING was done to rectify the issue!)
If you’re doing a covid wedding, beware. These people are sticklers & don’t help accommodate you. 2k TOTALLY down the drain b/c of their inability to understand situations. I know things may have been out of their control, but for the love of God I wish they could have given us the time of day and explore feasible options for us (other than to immediately go to rebooking a new date 1-2 months before the wedding when all of our guests were already booked for everything?!) It seems they just care about money more than their clients. For example, we signed contract for 125-150 people (even though the contract says 200) and then the regulation changed to 25, and then closer to our wedding was 50% capacity, HOWEVER, they did not include the fact that it did not include the staff and vendors in the count. Oh and by the way, no dancing allowed… at a wedding. (I UNDERSTAND THEY WERE FOLLOWING GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE BUT THAT DOESNT NEGATE THE FACT THERE WAS NO EMPATHY OR WORK AROUNDS FOR US!) There were some other factors in this…. So therefore, we were left helpless with our guests coming to the Island already. (& keeping our 2 thousand dollars!)
Very disappointed b/c while it was my dream wedding venue, they were unable to accommodate us for canceling due to the “regulations”! Something, I mean Something at the very least should have been done for us to make this deposit worth it!!!! Maybe help us find a different venue or unique workarounds to help our wedding out… Something!! But NOTHING. Nothing was done! I wish there was some sort of sympathy, but there was zero which makes it more sad! & what’s even more sad is they probably will read this and STILL not care.
I believe in second chances, & I may change rating if they ever have the decency & heart to try and make things right with us… will update if anything ever happens with...
Read moreCasa de España is the headquarters of a private social organization whose members are those of Spanish descent in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Avenida de La Constitución in Old San Juan.
The building was designed in a Moorish Revival style by architect Pedro Adolfo de Castro. The building dates from 1934. Although it is named "Casa", it has never been a dwelling place for a family; rather it is a "house" whose members claim common ancestry. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is not open to the public, but private affairs may be arranged.
The building is a "typical" Moorish palace that is 119 feet (36 m) wide by 158 feet (48 m) long, with an interior rectangular courtyard, 51 feet (16 m) by 85 feet (26 m) long.
The fountain one first encounters upon approach is a copy of one in the "Patio de los Leones" at La Alhambra in Granada, Spain.
The interior courtyard was used to film two coronation scenes for the Disney Channel Original Movie "Princess Protection...
Read moreWhen I look back at my wedding picture, I can honestly say.. We had a fairytale wedding.. Casa De España is absolutely beautiful. It is historic, elegant, and it is in beautiful Puerto Rico. The place feels magical. The staff was amazing, contract was delivered on time and everything was delivered as promised. On the day of our wedding it rained and the staff immediately moved everything inside to this beautiful library.. No, we did not get to have the wedding outside in the courtyard, but the inside was just as beautiful. I highly recommend this place for weddings and other events.
Behind Casa de España are additional places to take incredible photos. Castillo de San Cristobal, The Capital Building, Old San Juan, and many more..
