Classic Inn — Hotel in San Marcos

Would give no stars if I could. It was filthy. The entire place. They say they are “remodeling”. Some of which I could look past. Although most ppl or hotels would have put all the mattresses and furniture into ONE room during this time instead of lined down all the hallways. Carpets were not vacuumed ANYWHERE. The room we were in was disgusting. The tub hadn’t seen cleaning in probably ever!! The filth was everywhere. Bugs and hair in the tub. Toilets were stained with hard water. That I could get past since I wouldn’t actually touch the inside of the toilet and I’ve lived in places that had extremely hard water so I can understand how it could be tricky to keep it “new” looking if that were the case. But the floors were dirty. There were stains running down the walls in places. There were no mattress protectors only a thin sheet covering someone else’s germs. Even the lock on the door was broken! The smoke detector wasn’t even installed anymore. Only bare wired hanging from the ceiling. Not sure it’s even legal to rent anything at this place. No way. I was honestly afraid to sit anything down in the room at all. When I went downstairs to the front desk to let them know I was informed there were no other rooms to move us to. While I was waiting the group of ppl that had arrived behind us came down and were freaking out about blood stains on the bed sheets and mattress in their room just across the hall. I know it was a cheap hotel room, but come on. It should at least be safe and sanitary!!!! Don’t waste your time or money. We. Refused to stay. Drive out of the parking lot and into the best western right next door. We paid only about $30 more for the night and it was a safe, CLEAN room. No troubles. No fuss. And came with breakfast! Needless to say, I won’t ever let someone else pick the hotel for me again!! I will pay the extra $$ it wasn’t that big a difference but what a difference in cleanliness!! I would award zero stars if I could staff rude I got eat alive with bed bug bites was only there 48 hours and when I reported it I was thrown out this place is suppose to b a program to help homeless people get on their feet and they hindered me more than they helped u r not even given a chance to explain your plight they kick u out for violations you were never even made aware of bc nobody ever met with me like I was told they would the only time I saw staff with the program was delivering the eviction where I was give less than 12 hours to remove all my things I just spent my entire paycheck on thinking I was finally gonna have a roof over my head so I budgeted n bout groceries , all of which were to spoil and I was forced to go bk to abusive relationship I was...

Location is awesome accessible from IH 35 frontage rd or Rio Vista Neighborhood. Everything about this location that it is in walking distance to San Marcos' restaurants, waterfalls at Rio Vista, Downtown entertainment, Theater, and several boutiques to and from. The owner is very personable and caring he also provides a great security himself and keeps the parking lot free and clear of anything that could be potentially bad. I stay here every other weekend with my son because its safe here and competively priced at my benefit and yours. The amenities are lovely the stay is peaceful, the pool is clean always accessible.
