Best Budget Inn — Hotel in San Marcos

My friend & I inquired about a room, the woman manager said there was only one available. She explained it had four beds in it because some of the workers stay in that particular room at times. Lol I thought I was getting a luxury room for $80 including tax. OMG!!!! The room was horrific! The drapes were barely hanging because the rod was bent so bad, the mini fridge was rusty, the 80's style tv had no remote, I attempted to take a bath because it had jets in it (what the heck what was I thinking right?) there was no functioning plug or device to to keep the water from draining. There were no wash cloths & the two towels that were in there were so old, thin & ripped. I went to the office & inquired about a plug for the bathtub. The woman manager said they didn't have any lol so I asked about the jets in the tub she said they didn't work (surprise!). I was furious that they took me for so much money. The woman manager offered a washcloth to use as a plug if it will help because she. "Aims to please her customers so they keep coming back REALLY?!?! By this time she knew I was very angry she rudely said "maybe you should've looked at the room before you paid for it & second of all I would've reimbursed after you checked in if you weren't satisfied!" I asked her if I could get my money back. She said "no I'm not giving your money back after you've been there two hours (hell it took that long for my stomach to settle from the stench & dead bugs everywhere). She also told me if I wanted my money back to call the cops. After returning to the hell hole/room one of the workers came with a plug that was the wrong size. She left two washcloths & said she would return with a plug that would fit the bathtub drain. She never returned & the so called washcloths were so dirty & ripped I almost mistaked them for cleaning rags but then I realized where I was lol. There was also a broken down car with out tires sitting on bricks in the parking lot that drew the attention away from the moderately sober man uri in the pool. This place could never compete with motel 6 & leave the light on for you because most of the outside lights were burned out lol. This place needs to be shut down & the woman manager should be cleaning rooms instead of charging for them. Rude people have no business dealing...

Unfortunately,a few friends and I were forced to stay at this god awful hotel because it was during spring break and everything else was booked solid. At first, the key we were given to access the room did not work and we had to go get another one. Little did we know, a key was barely required to enter the room because the door would not lock properly. Upon entering the room the first thing we noticed was the terrible smell. It's hard to describe exactly, but it reminded me of nasty body odor and wet dog smell, maybe with a hint of rotting animal. Upon closer inspection later on in the night we found that the source of the smell was coming from the comforters on the bed. It is quite possible that they had not been washed in a year. That would honestly not surprise me at all. The bathroom door was only on one hinge and would not close. I'm not sure how the actual bathroom was, we tried to avoid it. One of the beds was actually just three mattresses stacked up, and one of them also had a crusty spot on it which we can only imagine as to what it originated from. We also found a significantly larger, brown crusty spot on the carpet in one of the corners. One of the walls also had a very large crack/hole in it which someone had tried to conceal with masking tape. We decided to go out to inspect the pool. There was only about a foot of water in it, and the water was so black we could not see the bottom of the pool. On top of that, there was a large quantity of things floating in the pool, mainly children's toys, which I personally found a little creepy. And as if that wasn't enough, we found a condom as well. ||||To conclude my review, I am very surprised that we were not all brutally murdered in our sleep. If the situation arises that this is the only available place to stay, I would suggest sleeping in your car somewhere or even finding a nice spot...

Good Evening everyone this lady that I just speak with I didn't even catch her name but I ask can I speak the property manager and she said yes how can help you I ask her to confirm if she is the property manager all she did was repeat her self 4 times not even answering my question. Didn't even give me her name or anything I told her she doesn't have to be rude then she was like well I said yes how can help you. Yes to what that your property manager or just front desk assistance. Honestly why isn't every motel in San Marcos has rude operater or front desk help if you dont like your job quit. It's the Indian people who are mostly mean. Your in hospitality your job is to be around people at least learn to be nice. It's 3:14 pm the lady who took my phone call on shift right now she doesn't deserve job, if your already being rude on the phone just imagine the service...
