We spent the morning floating the river and were hungry for lunch. My daughter said Fuego was popular with the college kids so we gave it a try.

Not too crowded when we arrived at 1:15 on a Saturday. You order at the counter and then find a table. I read several reviews of tge food before we ordered and saw that everyone said the tacos were large. But my family eats a lot and we were hungry. We each ordered 2 tacos. I took one bite of my second taco and wrapped it up to take home. Out of the 10 tacos we ordered, we took almost 4 of them home. We did also order chips and queso. My daughter had compared them to Torchy’s tacos in size but they were so much larger.

They have a condiment bar for you to get your own Pico, salsas, onion, cilantro, lime… water cups were also available.

Now for the tacos - chicken and waffles - it was definitely a meal in itself. Large waffle, 2 chicken tenders, eggs and bacon. It also came with maple syrup. My son separated the ingredients and ate only half of it with one tortilla. He ate the rest of it separately. It could have made 2 tacos easily. Flavor was delicious also. My husband a Fuego steak and said the steak was very moist and flavorful. Magic mushroom - son liked how the mushrooms were fried because it gave a good contrast to the texture. Hippie came on a corn tortilla with creamed corn and guacamole and lots of chicken. I ordered the Rock Star and the Sweet Caroline. The Rock Star was delicious. Lots of different flavors with the mushrooms, creamed corn , fried avocado and beef. I also added some Pico and some chips every now and then for a crunch. I didn’t care for the Sweet Caroline as much. The DrPepper bbq sauce was too sweet for me and it also has creamed corn which made it even sweeter. I also didn’t like the texture of the pulled pork. It was too soft. This is the one I took home. Maybe later when I am hungry again I will like it more.

The staff was all very nice and someone came around frequently to take out our trash. Will definitely go there again. Great value for your money. Chicken and waffle taco was only $4.89 and the beef tacos were $5.99. If you only ordered 1 taco like a normal person, you could spend less than $10...

I've been coming to Fuego for years. Since 2015 to be exact. It used to be soooooo good, and I long for that same deliciousness. Actually, I wrote a review 2 years ago (under my maiden name) talking about how good it is. However, over the past couple years, Fuego has gone down hill drastically. I have ordered the exact same thing, every single time (I'm a creature of habit). Fuego steak taco, poblano queso, side of chipotle cream corn and side of charro beans. The only good thing still is the chipotle cream corn. I'm not sure how you can mess up queso so bad, but they managed to do so. It was chunky, and not good chunky. Like, curdled milk/cheese chunky. And smelled awful. It actually made me physically sick after trying it, so I immediately threw it out. The Fuego steak taco was missing the chipotle cream corn on it, more potatoes than steak and minimal cheese. The steak was SOOOOO DRY. It was almost impossible to eat. And it tasted like pure smoke. Coming from the wife of a professional chef, with specialization in slow-smoking meat... if you're smoking meat and the entire flavor of the meat is consumed by the taste of straight smoke... You're doing it wrong. Everything about this was awful. I wish this was a one-off situation. I truly do. Unfortunately, this isn't the first bad order with Fuego. Or the second, third, or fourth. I must be a glutton for punishment because I KEEP going back to Fuego, hoping for that deliciousness I had so many years ago. However, after this most recent time, I'm done. Dear Fuego, it's not me... It's you. Like a bad boyfriend/girlfriend, it's time to say goodbye and part ways. I hope you can improve back to the way you were before and maybe then we can revisit our relationship but for now, I'm done...

So disappointing. We had high hopes for fuego but the service we received here was very unprofessional and some of the worst service I have ever received. For the price of their tacos, I expected to be treated much better. We waited over 20 minutes after paying for our food for the 4 tacos we ordered. The cars behind us received their food much earlier than we did. One young lady attempted to hand us someone else’s food but we corrected her, and she walked off without so much as an apology. Then an older lady shoved the bag of food through our window and we told her that was not the correct order. She proceeded to get upset and exclaimed very loudly that now “she has to remake the entire order” because we had touched it. We had only touched the plastic bag it was in but it may be company policy to remake the food. Either way, she was very rude and blamed us for her own mistake, causing my wife and children to become very upset by the scene she was causing. We finally were given our food and upon opening it, we realized that we had not been given the salsa we requested, there were no napkins or silverware packets, and there was no chicken on the chicken and waffles taco. For a taco that costs more than $5, I would expect the main ingredient to be there. My child was very upset over not having the taco they wanted and as a parent it was very upsetting. Because of the long wait and terrible service we received, we decided it wasn’t worth it to get our order fixed, but we will not be returning to this location. Staff need to be better trained on how to speak to customers so this doesn’t happen again. As someone who works in customer service, I would never even think of speaking to a customer like...

Made a trip to Austin from Houston went to Torchys first day in town. Then on to San Marcos to try this place the next day. Came highly recommend from a friend. The food was good. Tacos are huge. Dr Pepoer Cowboy & The hippie were my favorite. They have a salsa bar and digital drink station. The tortillas are the best! Definitely a great variety. Large dinning room, seating outside as well. Drive thru available. 4 people in our group, We each had 2 -3 tacos, Lg queso, tortilla soups, street corn and drinks. The reason for the 4 stars was the fact that we placed a large order ( close to $100 total) so we could all try differs things, including refried beans for a dip.. with our queso. I was told I could not buy chips for my “ Bean Dip” I was told I had to buy another queso or salsa to get another basket of chips. I did not understand why I could not just buy the chips . Had another employee come to help cashier and confirmed with a manager that I could not buy just the chips. Ridiculous! So instead of wasting the beans, we bought a chips and salsa so we could try the beans. Because we just wanted the chips that what we got, no salsa, but paid for it to get the chips. For a restaurant to not want to accommodate a customers request for a basket of chips that just spent a over $100 total in the establishment just left a bad taste in my mouth. We will NOT return. Back to Torchys it is, they have no problem selling/giving you chips if ya need more.

PERFECT is what my 10 year old said. 1sttime ever eating here. Manager was great explaining how to order. You order at the county terminal then they bring you your food. Everything is al carte. This works great for our family because we could split several side items. Tortillas literally melt in your mouth. I had major oral surgery and ordered beans thinking that was all I would be able to eat. I took a chance and since the portions were huge ate half my 9 year old fish taco. Everyone ordered a different taco and it was fabulous. The tortillas were warm and soft, literally melt in your mouth. The meat inside each was crisp and juicy. The fillings were fresh and they did not skimp on the fillings. The portobello mushroom in the cheese dip was just the right amount. This place was excellent and clean. It would put Taco Bell out of business in West Tennessee. Much more affordable than Taco Bell and most Mexican restaurants (we have more mexican restaurants than Dollar Generals) I'd hive this place 10 stars if the app allowed me.
