SO and I stayed one night and booked it well in advance. We were trying to find a place close to Lockhart and after doing some searches online found this place. We normally like Best Western hotels and for the most part have been satisfied with our stays but this one was definitely the exception. To begin, hotel is right next to the highway. Literally a stone throw's away. Rooms have single pane windows. Result: you could hear every car passing by. So note to light sleepers, do not suggest coming here. Next, this is a two story hotel with no elevator so make sure you either pack light or leave your stuff in your car as you will have to take everything up the stairs. Check in was quick and easy so no hassle there. We asked for a late check out and while the clerk was hesitant, he did inform us that we could check out at 11:30. Upon entering our room (2nd floor🙄), we noticed the carpet. We could tell that it was old and in need of a VERY deep cleaning. Still, not a deal killer at this point, most of the bad spots were in the corners so we just did not put our stuff near them. The bed was clean and comfy and the pillows were actually firm enough to be called pillows so definitely a plus. Bathroom looked mostly clean during our first inspection. The bathtub could have used a good scrubbing but nothing too bad. Later that night, as we took our showers and started using the tub, we noticed three things: VERY slow drain, the metal grab bar was coming off the wall, and the shower curtain rod was loose. So we had a shower/bath, tried not to pull the curtain, and avoided the bar as much as possible although I am curious to see if this is against some sort of city code. When it came time to brush our teeth, we found out that they had installed a "two-handed" faucet🙃. It was also loose and in order to open the water, we had to hold the faucet down with one hand and open with the other. 🤦♂️🙄🤷♂️ We were tired and the fact that we had a clean bed and working toilet stopped us from leaving. Lastly, at 11:01am, staff came knocking on our door asking us to check out. SMH. If the owners read these, please invest in some repairs. If Best Western is reading these, I am disappointed in you. We will have to reconsider this brand of hotels in the future. Sorry for the long review but I think it...
Read moreBook at your own risk.My first night here there was a treacherous smell in the hallway but at least it wasn’t in the room. My last night of stay I found a fly the size of a quarter minuets into me walking in my room. Around 3:30am I saw a roach running across the dresser the tv sits on. In the midst of me trying to kill that roach I find another roach on the wall and that’s where I drew the line. I then went to the front desk and made my frustrations clear and requested a refund because I didn’t have intentions of staying in the room. They offered me another room and said I’d have to wait until the morning to speak to the manager about a refund. I declined the offer for another room, and said I’d talk to the manager in the morning. I then went back to my room, showered, gathered my things, and spent the rest of the night in my truck. Mind you when I left out of there is was approximately 4:30-5:00am. When I talked to the manager this morning he said that I couldn’t get a refund because I “stayed” and declined the offer for another room. That’s when I corrected him and told him that I went back to my room and took a shower and spent the rest of the night in my truck. He responds with “oh” and proceeds to tell me if I take my receipt to another Best Western I could be compensated for a night but that was the most he’ll do for me. At this point the chances of me going to another best western are slim to none. I tried to be courteous and wait until the lobby was clear of people from breakfast because my point wasn’t to put them on blast but I don’t feel as if they didn’t have my best interest so here we are. I understand you aren’t going to get the best hotel for the price but if you’re going to pay the money you worked for, the least they can do is make sure you don’t have flies or roaches in the room...
Read moreWouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Accidentally booked a room here thinking it was a lot closer to my destination than it actually was. After we realized we booked the wrong hotel we called to cancel the reservation. this was no more than 15 minutes after booking the room. We called up there and explained what had happened and asked to cancel the reservation. We were told no. We actually drove to this location to talk to the manager in person. When i walked in and explained to the lady at the front desk and when she figured out i had just called to cancel she told me " I already spoke to you and told you that you cannot cancel your reservation" when i asked to explain my situation she interrupted me and said you can speak to the manager. The manager came out and already had a bad attitude. His first words out of his mouth were "what do you want" I explained to him my situation and he said "she already told you no, you cannot cancel. At the time i had a pen in my hand and when he told me i couldn't cancel i tossed (not threw) the pen back down on the counter. The manager then started yelling at me saying i threw the pen at him, and that i had destroyed hotel property. He then told me to leave. i told him that if i was not going to get a refund i wanted to go ahead and keep my room to keep from having to stay in my truck for a night. from then on all he would say was you leave now. Needless to say i left and had to go through corporate just to get my refund. Terrible manager, and the staff that night...
