I took my daughter here to have her create her own slime. A few weeks after, she opened her slime and it was covered in mold. She only played with it twice on a special tray that was clean. She washed her hands before playing and after. I called the Slime Kitchen but their website lists the same phone number for the San Jose Oakridge and Hillsdale location. Unbeknownst to me, I accidentally ended up calling Oakridge instead. I explained the problem and they said that could happen if it gets contaminated (not sure how that could have happened) but they said I could bring it and remake the slime. Unfortunately, we then discovered that I had called the wrong location. She provided the Hillsdale mall phone number and I spoke with them and they refused to let us remake the slime. They just said, yea, sometimes that happens, you can come in and buy a new slime. They even ran it up to the supervisor at the store when I explained that Oakridge was going to let me remake it and they said that they don't do that in Hillsdale. So I would avoid this location as clearly they aren't as customer friendly as other locations. My daughter was very upset about her slime that we spent $25 to only...
Read moreThe worst customer service. No empathy, no understanding! We walked in to the store and being harassed by a sales person named Shelby three times in less then 5 minutes we were there, three times! First, they would not let us do a DYI slime, b/s they had a party in 30 min. No information about it online - We would’ve plan for that. After we were exploring what we could just buy there to make up to the kid, she approached us again, making even more uncomfortable and pushing us out from the store - come on, read the room - Kid is already upset and she was making it even worse. And then, we picked one of the bags from the shelf to see what is inside, she approached us again and said do not open. Which we did NOT! Moreover, no signes saying “do NOT look inside of the bag”!!! I can read. I called manager, and he was even worst, cannot even understand why we are so upset. We were having a horrible customer experience in the store he manages!!!??? I littering have to ask him “Is there anything you are going to say? - hint! hint! After that he squeezed “I’m sorry, mam” - He did not even mean it!! What an experience. If i could put minus 5...
Read moreBad practice, disappointed kids.
We went there on Dec 30th afternoon. The first worker (a young man) told us that the kids can play there after any purchase. Right after we paid, the second worker told us that they were too busy and kids cannot play there unless bought their DIY package. (There were 8 tables, all empty, and 4 other people in the store).
A mother and her son had the same problem. She asked if our kids can share a table, if the store was “busy”. The second worker went in to check, and the first worker came out said “only those who made slime here can play here.” And no apology. Shocking! My daughter did not meet their age requirement for the DIY package (4.5 yr), so we got the premade ones with the hope to play there. She and the other kid waited so patiently and were so disappointed.
The slime was $16.5. The quality was below average (more chemical smell and too sluggish) for the price. (Picture for a slime we got from the Five Monkeys in Burlingame at the same price (left) and the one from Slime Kitchen (right) ). Given the quality of the service based on our experience, I do not recommend the Slime Kitchen...
