Pink Pink Tea Shoppe — Restaurant in San Mateo

For food, 2 days ago around the afternoon I ordered a mango fantasy with agar boba and waited for my drink to be made—I usually get this and it tastes very good and it correctly follows the amount of sugar I want in the drink.

The store’s service is poor.

Normally this store does not provide change for customers and I find it inconvenient for people that don’t use cash.

A few days ago around the afternoon, there was a lady with black hair with no glasses with her hair tied up serving us, and she was nice and all but then she forgot to put agar boba in my drink, and I saw that the previous customer had the same issue. I don’t understand how this mistake can be made because there is a small machine in the front of the store that prints out the receipts for every customer’s order and it clearly said “Agar boba with no sugar” on it.

Today I went to Pink Pink again, that same lady was serving me, and I was bringing cash to pay for my drink, I saw that I didn’t have smaller bills so then I offered to pay and ask for change, and the store DID NOT PROVIDE CHANGE, this happens ALL THE TIME I go to the boba shop, and luckily my friend had a card to help me pay, but then there were issues with the iPad that the store provided. The payment did not go through and it TOOK my friends money WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO REFUND, so we asked the lady and the lady finally helped us pay in the cashier iPad. The lady looked impatient for all these issues but I finally got my drink.

For atmosphere, you could check the process of the boba being made and everything was clean.

Peach & Hokkaido Milk Soft Serve – The peach soft serve was a standout, tasting like fresh, ripe fruit rather than something artificial. – Paired with the creamy milk soft serve, it created a perfect peaches-and-cream combo that was balanced and not overly sweet.

Matcha Milk & Coconut Pudding – Strong matcha flavor with a lower level of sweetness. – My boyfriend loved it more than I did, but I found the texture and flavors unique.

Drinks:

Taro Tornado (50% sweetness) – Super creamy with just enough sweetness to complement the richness. – The portion was generous, and the cute presentation added to the overall experience.

Very Grape Cheesefo (50% sweetness) – A bit on the sweeter side; I’d go for 25% next time. – Loved the natural grape flavor and the salty-sweet cheese foam that topped it off. – The lychee jelly added a fun twist, blending nicely with the other flavors.

I had the pleasure of being invited to try some desserts at this charming, woman-owned spot. My boyfriend tagged along, and we wasted no time digging into these treats. The drinks were as delicious as they were eye-catching, and the coconut pudding was a pleasant surprise—I’m already eyeing the mango version for next time. The soft serve was the perfect balance of flavors, and the shop itself is adorably decorated. There’s so much variety here, I’ll definitely be back!
