This is a review only for the event side of things - NOT THE RESTAURANT.
We had friendly service for our event but were very disappointed with a few things.
There was conflicting information and details coming from the event coordinating staff. After some back and forth they eventually held true to what they originally offered.
Food buffet was not ready until 1:20pm. It was supposed to be out by 1pm. (The events team later came back to us after the event, framing the situation as a favor saying they let us stay later past 4pm. But our food came out later, hence, we stayed later. We checked in with the onsite staff at the event and they allowed a later check out. This was more accommodation out of obligation than giving us grace.)
We had to look for a server to provide serving utensils for the buffet. - We had to look for a server to replenish buffet items several times.
The most disappointing experience we had was when the server(s) took all our food away. It was our understanding that Pinstripes will not pack it for us but we can bring our own containers to pack all the leftovers. This was even communicated and confirmed with the event coordinator, Angel, prior to the event in writing. We had family and guests that traveled a long way from NY, WA, OR, Sacramento, San Rafael, Tracy, San Pablo. We were anticipating feeding our guests for our after party gathering as there was still so much food left. We had our containers all ready when we were told the horrifying news that all our food was dumped. There was no notice or warning that they were collecting the food to dump. We had advised the staff of our intentions in advance... It was extremely upsetting. We had paid thousands of dollars for this service only for our food to be thrown away. The onsite manager said he spoke to Angel and conferred with everything stating that we were to take all the leftovers. All he said was sorry and gave me a few coupons to try to appease the horrible situation. We are looking to rectify this situation and a resolution for service that was NOT fully rendered. As of now the events team refuse to give us any compensation or credit.
-Lastly, I called the staff the other day to let them know we may have left some items. The host said she would let management know and get back to me. I did not hear back.
Overall, I would be wary of booking events as there were a lot of miscommunications on their end. The onsite event wait staff were all...
Read moreI've been here many times for happy hour, dinner and brunch with a satisfactory experience. My review is for the bowling party package they offer.
I threw a simple birthday party for my son. 13 kids 4 adults. I didn't require anything extra from the staff, we had no decorations either. All in all we were a very easy going and laid back group.
Our food orders didn't come out on time and some not at all. The drinks they made for our guests had to be remade because the first batch had a horrible smell. Parents and kids both were waiting for their food for an unacceptable amount of time. Some orders from the PREORDERED package never even came out! The party platter came on time (just pizza) except they missed the fries, salad and brownies. The presentation was severely underwhelming. Even if it was just pizza they could have done more than just slap it on the warming plate. When I told them the warming plate wasn't working the waitress blamed our party! I was chasing down staff the entire time asking where things were. It was not a busy day at all and we were only one of two parties upstairs in the bowling area. When I mentioned my disappointment to the manager she was nice and apologetic. She agreed to take the items that never came out as contracted off the bill. When we left, we found out it was still charged!! It was an insignificant amount but I was appalled by the mishandling of just everything that day. I contacted the Sr Events Sales manager as well as the Director of sales who responded two whole weeks later after my 3 follow up emails. Their response? Underwhelming as well. Just a textbook copy paste saying oops sorry. I think the managements response just took this experience over the top. The staff were nice enough the day of and I'm sure they tried their best. I didn't raise a stink then and still left gratuity for their efforts - as lacking as it was for my standards. However, when the horrible experience was escalated to Mariel and Alyson, I was shocked at how little effort was made to rectify the situation. It almost came off snarky and lacked total empathy. This is why I'm leaving a review. They could have turned an ugly situation into a better one. Instead they lit it on fire.
This was my son's birthday and I can safely say it was the worst party we've ever hosted. They ruined my son's special event! Think twice before hosting your special event here. It's not worth the...
Read moreCame here on a Saturday afternoon for a girls' day. My friend put our names on a list earlier that day, and I was waiting for them to reply when an available spot would be open, but since it was getting late, we decided to just do a walk-in. Upon arrival, we found out the entire place was booked! I wish there was a way for us to be informed earlier.
I've shopped at this mall before, and I've seen Pinstripes from the outside, but was never sure of what it actually was on the inside. I was surprised to know there was bocce ball and bowling! Well, the name makes sense, but when you walk in, if feels like a bit more upscale Yard House restaurant than a play area. I didn't even get to see the bowling alleys because they were upstairs and hidden away. When I walked up to use the restroom, it was full of graduation parties and other celebrations. Everyone dressed really nice.
We decided to just eat dinner here. The service was great. I liked that they asked us if we wanted the food to come out all at once or one by one with the appetizers first. We wanted it to come all at once, and we shared it family style between 4 people. We got the...
Chicken and goat cheese pasta: This was delicious but there were like 3 tiny pieces of chicken. Sad. Wish we had more bang for our buck here.
Margherita pizza: Tasted good although salty. I wondered if it was the cheese. When my cheese fell off, I tried it alone. Turns out, the tomato sauce on this was overly salted. I dipped the crust in the ranch that came with our apps.
Calamari: Nice breading, crispy, and had a decent portion. I like when calamari is thin and breaded.
Truffle fries: Crispy and tasty when it was fresh. I liked that it wasn't too greasy nor doused in truffle oil.
For the drinks, we got the puccinis and the Tuscan sangrias. They weren't particularly strong but they were refreshing! The servers gave great recommendations.
I'd love to come back for mimosas and/or happy hour. My friend saw chocolate fountain inside and got excited, but I think that's...
