I have been a member for almost a year now and I have to say there are extremely great things about this gym and extremely bad. Starting with the good, I have had a great experience with every single trainer I have worked with, especially Pilates-which I had never done in my life, and ended up being the best part of my experience and why I stayed a member even though I had some pretty bad billing mistakes occur and significant difficulties correcting them. The other major positive was the kid area for my kids, most of the people there were great with kids, unfortunately there are some people working there that just should not be working with kids. Let's say 80% of the time the kids area was great...but then there were periods that well, were just unacceptable. I will say that they do have great staff members, usually the senior members, and they are wonderful, but if you go at a time they are not on duty, it is like night and day..huge bruises on my kids face and lack of oversight. Once I even saw an infant crawling around the basketballs all by themselves and trying to climb on the rack. I saw this because I was looking for my child's socks. There was no one even over in the open gym area, everyone was in the gated toddler area, except for the infant trying to climb the basketball rack. However, that was not the norm, and I have child that likes to jump off of things, so it is not all on them. My main issues are around the billing, I get that my membership cost $200 a month with my two kids and it requires a 30 day cancel notice, this is not my issue, other than I tried to cancel for 2 weeks unsuccessfully while being billed,..My issues started with auto billing and over charging due to changes in their app over the summer of 2019. I once had to spend multiple sit down visits to understand why my bill for one month was over $1000! No one could tell me why, I had to go to every person I interacted with at the gym to try to figure it out...why could someone not just pull up my account and tell me what I billed for. It took almost a month to find out that there was an error with the new swim lesson app and they had over charged me by $575, and then we had similar issues the following month but it was solved fast. I had to spend hours and hours of my time working without much assistance at all from lifetime. I had more billing issues with other classes I signed up for, and I would sign up for a certain amount of classes without the auto renew, however, the auto renew always seemed to come into play and once again I would have to spend a significant amount of time in accounting trying to see what was going on; however I did get pretty efficient with it after the first few times it happened. And the only reason I would get refunded is because I had signed copies of what I agreed to, which I had to produce otherwise, it was their money, not mine. The last billing issue I will bring up is with the spa bookings and the app. On 4 occasions, I had issues with the spa overcharging me for services I booked on the app. The typical excuse was, well your person you booked is no longer available, but someone else can take you...then I saw I was being charged $127 for a 1 hour massage instead of $97 after the fact (2x)...there seemed to be a blatant disregard for my time and my money. On another occasion I booked a 75 minute pedicure, I was running 10 minutes late, which is on me, but the lady ended the appt 15 minutes early from our scheduled time because her regular client got their early and she told me it did not matter since I was late anyway, ...but charged me the full rate. I said something to the manager and she just looked at me and told me I must be confused and the person behind me was one of their best clients...now on to the 4th issue, I book a hair appt, after 20 minutes of waiting after my appt is supposed to start, I ask what is going on, 10 minutes after that I am told she is not available. All I can say is I loved pilates, that is why I dealt with the billing issues...
Read moreFirst things first, it is extremely difficult to get pictures of the inside of a gym without appearing to be taking pictures of the patrons inside. I've tried my best to not include any pictures of any patrons and was thus unable to capture any pictures of the sauna, both inside and out, the hot-tub, or the two full-size basketball courts.
Secondly, the price. This is an expensive gym. Being in Sandy Springs and being marked as a Diamond Club makes the monthly dues that much more high-end. Well, what's the difference between the demarcations of Diamond vs. Platinum vs. Gold? Honestly, not much. The Diamond locations are a bit more exclusive, typically located in more high-end areas, and offer the ability to go to any other gym location or type. In addition, the Diamond locations are kept cleaner and are more prone to machine upgrades.
This gym is definitely vibrant and teeming with activities. They have very flexible hours, being closed from midnight to 4:00 AM only. The gym is extremely clean on the inside and there is ample parking both within the deck and directly adjacent to the gym entrance. There are two swimming pools, one indoors and one outdoors. The one outdoors has a giant slide similar to one found at water parks.
On the third level of the gym there are two full size basketball courts and a plethora of squash courts. The free weights and machines are located on the second floor, in addition to the cardio equipments which it was noted all have their own individual televisions.
The first floor has the locker rooms, which flow easily to the indoor and outdoor pools. Inside the locker rooms are razors for shaving and other toiletries for convenience. In addition, towels are complementary and are placed throughout the locker room. The first floor also has a full end cafe with Peets Coffee and smoothies available for purchase.
Overall, a very nice gym with all the amenities you could ask for. Is it worth the additional premium? I'm not sure, but if you're in the market for a high end gym in Atlanta, I would definitely recommend looking into...
Read moreToday, I decided to write a review about this location. I've been coming here for a couple of months and I really like it. I really wish people would stop saying that this place isn't clean. I've seen people post pictures of hair in the drain and towels on the floor. I've also seen reviews about the staff being unprofessional, which I have never experienced that so I can't speak on it. As far as the place being clean, I will speak about that. What i realized from coming to this place is that a lot of the people who visit here feel that they're entitled and are privileged so they don't feel like they have to clean up behind themselves, which is ridiculous. This facility gives you all the resources you need to keep it cleaning. They literally have a trash can at every door and napkins so that if you do have hair that you left in the sink or the drain in the shower, you can wipe it out. If you have a towel there is literally a place to put the return towels by the exit door so there is no excuse for you to leave the towels on the floor all over the place. You want to blame the facility and the workers for the uncleanliness, but you need to blame yourself. Everyone should clean up after themselves. Just because they have people who claim the facility does not mean that they are the maid, meaning pick up after yourself. It's not their job. Stop making a mess. I think in some people's minds that they think it's staff job to clean up after them so they don't respect the facility or other people who are using the facility. In reality, their job to keep the facility clean, but we have to do our part. When I come to this facility, it's clean. So by the time I leave, if it's dirty, it's from everyone else not doing their part. It's literally no reason why this place should not be clean. They give you all the tools you need. So please stop being lazylazyand clean up behind yourself. There are other people that use this facility. Stop being lazy and making it hard for everyone else. And you know...
